To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.
Ever wonder what a larger plant will mean for your landscape? Container Sizes are really all about the age of the plant!
Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

The oval leaves emerge soft orange and buttery yellow before turning to chartreuse-green until fall!
All summer, enjoy the same sunshine yellow blossoms that bees and butterflies adore! Lighting up the shade with their radiance, the foliage holds its own against this display and there is no gloomy dappled shade that won't benefit! Each darling whirled yellow flower has a shower of golden sparks erupting from its center!
Staying that chartreuse green for the rest of the growing season, this flowering ornamental plant is ideal for small gardens! St. John's Wort makes itself right at home, even spreading out a little to form small colonies! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 8 and grows into a tidy and space-saving 12 - 18 Inches tall and 12 - 24 Inches wide.
St. John's Wort is also a beneficial herb and has long been used to relieve everything from anxiety and depression to inflammation. While we don't recommend using landscaping Hypercum medicinally, just the sunny blooms, vibrant color, and the sheer amount of butterflies that arrive are sure to lift your spirits!
Planting and Application:
This is an excellent groundcover subshrub for shady areas and wilderness gardens! Line the back of your property without worry that deer will come knocking! Only swarms of native bees, beneficial insects, and butterflies! St. John's Wort fits right into your landscape! Both large and small gardens, containers and planters, and bridges the transition between the yard and the woods, taming the wildness and filling an area with little rays of sunshine!
Golden Rule® St John's Wort's short, spreading nature is great when used as the front of a shady border. You could also let it ramble between other plants in the bed - it gets so thick it will choke out weeds. Though it takes sun, too much will be hard on the leaves and they may burn, so chose your site carefully.
For xeric sites and Rock Gardens in the dappled shade, Golden Rule® lights up hard to mow hillsides, as erosion control on streambanks and slopes. Lovely edging en masse and facer plants, this brightly colored flowering shrub adds pops of color anywhere in the landscape! Mixed-shrub borders, the back garden bed, and informal hedges are perfect spots for St. Johns Wort to roam! #ProPlantTips for Care:
Loving the full sun, these easily tolerate part shade and dappled sun areas. Hypericum doesn't have much preference for soil type, they do prefer rich, sandy loams. Just be sure to provide well-drained soils since they cannot tolerate wet feet! A generous layer of mulch retains moisture and insulates the root system from heat and winter's chill. St. John's Wort blooms on new wood, so prune while dormant to control the size and shape however, these really do their best in locations where they're allowed to be themselves. Golden Rule® is deer and pest resistant, too. Combine that with little need to prune and you've got a top-notch shade plant on your hands.
