A charming and elegant, light blue Iris, the Forever Blue Dwarf Tall Bearded Iris (Iris germanica 'Forever Blue') is ready to be your true-blue favorite! This petite but impactful Iris isn't just adored for its compact size, it's also beloved for its reblooming powder-blue appearance!
Before your other Irises have a chance to bloom, the Forever Blue is blazing bright and ready to welcome spring! Its monochromatic blooms first appear in early spring and reappear in late summer. The Forever Blue features soft blue standards and falls with bright blue-violet beards which are fantastic landing pads for Hummingbirds and pollinators!
When paired with mid-spring and late-spring blooming Iris varieties, your garden will be alive with brilliant and bold Tall Bearded Irises all spring long and into summer. Hardy perennials growing throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 9, and only growing into a compact 12 inches in height and small spread of just 8 - 12 inches. When not in bloom, the Forever Blue's low-growing gray-green foliage is attractive and sturdy!
Planting and Application:
As a dwarf variety, this Iris proves you don't have to have a massive yard to grow show-stopping Irises. This fantastic Iris makes a great front-of-the-border planting and edging row in tight areas. Light up your Pollinator border, in the Rock garden, and cut flower garden with drifts of these sweet blue beauties, or sprinkle them in front of your standard Bearded Irises.
Create a joyous and cheerful impression when you plant your Forever Blues along your garden path or around a birdbath. This reliable rebloomer makes an excellent addition to any Cottage garden and mixed perennial border!
While en masse plantings light up the garden, smaller installations in groupings, or a single specimen add their dreamy hue to your garden beautifully! But these dwarf Iris are also wonderfully space-saving and well-suited for use in porch planters and mixed container gardens.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Choose a spot for your Iris that receives full or partial sun (afternoon shade in hotter climates). Provide your Iris with a well-drained soil location for best results, and water on a regular basis during their first year in the ground. All plants appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch over the rhizomes and surrounding soil area.
Deadhead when the blooms are done but keep the leaves so they can make food for the bulb. As the years pass, you will want to divide and transplant the new rhizomes every 2-5 years depending on how closely they're planted together.
Information About Bareroot Iris
Bareroot Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots. Container plants are well-grown in the nursery for several years in their container to establish a strong root system. This low-maintenance perennial does best when planted in fall.
When planting Iris, which are best planted in early to mid-fall, ensure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover them in the spring.
