Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Burst your landscape into flames this fall! The Flashfire® Sugar Maple Tree (Acer saccharum 'JFS-Caddo2') is a brilliant new member of the Red Maple Tree family! Glossy and colorful foliage in spring transforms into exceptional dark-green foliage all summer! Plus, the iconic fall color you expect from a Maple when the autumn temperatures drop, only better!

New and improved mildew resistance, plus heat and humidity tolerance, the Flashfire® is a lovely ornamental shade tree with lobed foliage, unique winged seed pods, and of course that fall color everyone raves about - amplified! Bold, brilliant, and early, your tree explodes into saturated hues of red, orange, and yellow!

Dense foliage and compact growth make this tree a wonderful hedgerow tree for privacy when pruned smaller, or let develop to full size to shade seating areas and gardens, blocking out the hot sun and cooling everything beneath its limbs.

Planting and Application:

Maturing into a broad-reaching oval form, Flashfire® casts cooling shade over your driveway, home, or garden beds! Great for front and back yard landscaping, you’ll want to site this tree where you’ll easily be able to witness its year-round beauty!

Like other Sugar Maple trees, Flashfire® does produce that syrupy, sticky sap, so once your tree is old enough - go ahead and tap it! Be careful not to prune your tree until winter so the sap doesn’t make your car or seating areas develop into a sticky situation.

  • Focal point & shade tree. Colorful specimen
  • Brilliant red-orange-yellow fall color
  • Great low branches for screening & privacy
  • Long-lived & deep-rooted trees

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant Flashfire® in full sun and in an open area for great air circulation, this will give you the best color. Give these roots room to grow and plant in a well-enriched environment that is also well-drained.

  • Tolerant of heat and humidity. Cold hardy
  • Large root system - needs regular, moderate moisture, room & average fertility
  • Not as large as other Sugar Maple varieties
  • Head over to our Garden Blog for more Maple Tree Care & Planting info!
  • Mulch young trees well - protects from mower damage, adds insulation & retains moisture

Get ready for bonfires, sweaters, and hot apple cider by ordering a Flashfire® Sugar Maple tree for your landscape today! You won’t want to miss out on another autumn color show! Nothing provides shade, privacy, and curb appeal like ornamental hardwood trees from NatureHills.com!
