These shrubs do best in full sun to partial/afternoon shade locations and need slightly acidic well-drained soil to thrive. Once established, Firethorn handles occasionally wet to dry spells, clay, and salt/saline locations.

Firethorn flowers on old growth, so prune immediately after flowering to ensure flowers next year.
