Our team has carefully created a modern tree form over several years. All the work has been done for you to enjoy those beautiful flowers at eye level aloft a tall trunk.

Super hardy Fire Light® Hydrangea is a woody selection that produces blooms on each branch tip.

How to Use Fire Light® Hydrangea Tree Form in the Landscape

A single plant brings such a fetching look beside your front door. Plant in the ground, or style them in a 24-inch container.

They match so many different styles. Ramble them with groundcover Roses in a Cottage Garden. Or, place them just so in an ultra-modern planting bed with electric-colored Sedum underneath.

Fire Light® Hydrangea Tree Form is also wonderful planted en masse. Try a row of them behind your patio seating, and you'll get the bonus of privacy screening from their well-branched canopies.

Make a mulched island bed in your lawn, and alternate Fire Light® Hydrangea shrub with these showy tree forms. Study our extensive Hydrangea collection, and use several of your favorite varieties for a custom-crafted look.

Place two flanking on either side of your front door. Or, decorate your side gate for a delightful sense of entry.

They make captivating additions to existing mixed plantings, as well. Fire Light® Hydrangea tree form draws the eye and can be repeated throughout the yard to tie your entire landscape design together.

#ProPlantTips for Care

With some of the deepest red-pink blooms on the market, Fire Light® Hydrangea isn't affected by soil pH. Give it plenty of sun for the best flowering...at least four hours a day.

In the warmest climates, consider placing them where they will receive afternoon shade. We also recommend that you find a sheltered planting spot that doesn't get buffeted by the worst of the wind.

Use the provided stake to support new trees. Pound it down into the ground during planting.

In windy areas, tie the stake with two wires. You might consider beefing up your support stake if the tree will be in an open and exposed area. Staking for the first year should be sufficient and should then be removed after that first growing season.

As the roots develop and establish, the trunk will become as sturdy as any tree. We highly recommend you order Nature Hills Root Booster to augment the fine feeder roots over the entire life of your beautiful tree.

Give your Fire Light® Panicle Hydrangea well-drained soils. Use a container, or create a raised planting bed if your soil stays soggy after a rainfall.

New trees and container-grown plants need a regular schedule of water. Even after an in-ground tree is established in your soil, please protect your investment with water during dry spells.

Mulch over the root system to a depth of three inches, but remember to pull the mulch back from the trunk several inches.

Maintain your Fire Light® Hydrangea tree form canopy with one simple prune in early spring. Trim this tree into a rounded sphere shape on top of the single trunk.

This variety blooms on new wood. Each year, you'll prune it back to a 3-foot ball before it starts to grow. Over the season, they'll grow back out and develop those amazing creamy white into rich, pomegranate-pink flowers you love so much.

This specialty plant was carefully crafted from a Proven Winners® selection. Count on it to perform beautifully for you in your landscape.
