Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Sweet and petite, but oh so eye-catching! The aptly named Eye Catcher Dutch Iris (Iris hollandica 'Eye Catcher') is a showy little Dwarf Iris that has so much detail, that you'll be willing to get down closer to eye level to take it all in!
Featuring snowy white petals with a dark purple stripe down the middle, with tongues splashed in blue speckles and a bright yellow stripe on the lower petals, plus a greenish-yellow reverse on cute clusters of upright green leaves!
Dwarf Dutch Iris hybrids are easy-to-grow spring ephemerals, popping up in the early spring with your Muscari, Hyacinths, and Squills! But you may want to plant these hardy little bulbs in pots to see them up close and personal, or force the bulbs indoors for some winter cheer! Outdoor hardy in the ground as perennials, Dwarf Dutch Iris grow great in USDA planting zones 5-8!
Planting and Application:
The Eye Catcher Dutch Iris is a show-stopper as edging in long rows and winding ribbons among your Rose garden, throughout the mixed perennial border, or weaving around your mixed shrub border. Dwarf Iris are ideal along narrow pathway gardens yet still impart a huge impact on their surroundings! Not to mention catching the attention of the neighbors and every pollinator in the area!
Growing fast from rhizomes that can be planted in fall outdoors or the winter indoors, these flowering ornamentals are wonderfully space-saving and showy! Deer and juglone resistant, there is little these self-sufficient plants can't handle in your garden beds and borders, or containers and planters.
- White Petals With Purple Stripes, Blue Speckles & Yellow Splashes
- Short, Compact Greenery Clumps
- Early Spring Color & Lightly Fragrant
- Great In Containers & Forced Winter Color
- Low Edging, Borders, Pathways, Massing & Groupings
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Dutch Iris in well-drained soil that won't get soggy, but remains consistently moist throughout the sun to part sun garden. Use a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch chips to help hold in moisture and protect the bulbs. Deadhead after flowers fade but keep the leaves to make food for the bulbs. Every few years it is recommended to divide the bulbs and clean out any older, non-productive roots to maintain vigor. Prune away the foliage after it yellows to the ground.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Fast Growing in Fertile Well-Drained Soil
- Appreciates Mulched Beds & Regular Moisture
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Foliage When It Yellows
- Deer & Rabbit Seldom Bother These
