Colorful and reblooming fragrant hardy Rose, the Easy Elegance® Music Box Shrub Rose (Rosa 'BAIbox') is a Shrub Rose variety from the Easy Elegance® Rose series. Like the enchanting strains of a music box, Music Box Landscaping Rose will create a delicate blending of creamy yellows and pretty pinks, presenting the prettiest picture in your garden this year!

The pink can encroach on the yellow and turn some blooms into shades of pink, while others are more yellow with delicate pink edges! The two-tone effect and varied hues that smother this entire shrub while it's in its prime just sing! Each bloom features radiant, yellow petals that transition from a darker center to lighter shades, culminating in pink-tipped outer petals.

It's a harmonious blending of colors that is sure to turn heads in your yard, especially as these double blooms repeat all summer long. Each fragrant, 2-inch blossom features a petal count of approximately 35 each, so your Music Box Roses depict a full, fluffy appearance amid the glossy, medium-green foliage.

Music Box is a Shrub Rose variety so you can be assured it is quite hardy, including being disease-resistant and cold-tolerant. It's even drought-tolerant, once established. Music Box is an Easy Elegance® Rose, developed as an "own-root" Rose. This gives it a much hardier nature than many other Roses. Growing easily throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9 and growing to a compact 3-6 feet in height with a slightly slimmer width. Very fragrant and embodying superior disease resistance, this own-root Shrub Rose makes growing Roses so easy!

Planting and Application:

Plant one of these musical flowering shrubs in your Rose garden, or let them waltz through a Cottage garden, for a unique addition to your collection! Perfect to plant in a spot where you'd love to have a Rose bush, but where less hardy varieties might struggle. Like the harsher spot by your mailbox or at the corner of your driveway welcoming you home.

Dress this beauty up or down, it looks equally fantastic in formal and modern gardens and courtyards, as it will among wildflowers, perennials and perennial borders! Must-haves for the pollinator border where every bee and butterfly will arrive to check out your blossoms! Plus you need a Music Box in your cut flower garden, so your floral arrangements will look perfectly composed!

Music Box Shrub Roses are perfectly sized as hedges and back-of-the-border plantings, the lush foliage an ideal backdrop for other blooms as well as fantastic screening and privacy that few will want to tangle with the thorns while crossing. Groupings offer bird-friendly cover while hiding an eyesore, and winding rows of thorny Shrub Roses added to a mixed shrub border create vivid and varied color and layered garden appeal!

Pinkish and buttery yellow Roses are cheerful and long-lasting gifts and memorial plants. Mark a special occasion, plant a lasting memorial, or give the gift of an easy-to-grow and maintain Rose bush for any event and milestone for the cost of a bouquet of Roses at the florist!

  • Soft Creamy Yellow & Blushing Pink Blooms of Varying Intensity
  • Multi-Colored, Reblooming Double Blooms!
  • Fragrant & Hardy Full Flower Clusters
  • Upright Growing Shrub Roses Full of Healthy Green Foliage

#ProPlantTips for Care

Plant these modern Roses where they'll get plenty of air circulation and full sun. Morning sun is best, and they'll need at least six or more hours of full sun a day. Plant in well-drained soil that doesn't stay soggy after rainfall and plant with some Nature Hills Root Booster to help your long-lived Roses with a symbiotic relationship with tiny feeder roots - it never wears out!

Provide a consistent yet moderate amount of water throughout the growing season and try to only water at the base of the plant, rather than wet the foliage. Spread a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to help reduce dirt splashing onto the leaves. This helps reduce the spread of disease and keeps your foliage clean.

In early spring and mid-summer, apply a slow-release fertilizer for flowering plants. Follow the application rates on the label, please. Prune own-root Roses down to eight inches in early spring just as they start to wake back up. Even the coldest winters will only kill the tops, but then regrow from the roots as good as ever! For everything about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
