Tiger Lilies like their roots in the shade and their face in the sun so love being planted behind other perennials for that wow in your garden! The tall stems do appreciate staking to keep them upright in storms and wind. Plant these bulbs in about any well-drained soil with moderate moisture and fertility.
Deadhead after bloom but leave the foliage until frost so they can make food for the bulbs, then prune to the ground when they die back in late autumn. To ensure even moisture, you can place mulch around the base of the flower. Adding mulch can also add a dramatic effect on the overall physical appearance!
