Purple Passion Delphiniums grow best in rich, well-drained soil with a basic pH. If your soil is naturally acidic, adding lime will help to provide these conditions. The strong stems rarely need to be staked when planted in a protected area, so they continue to stand as tall punctuation throughout the garden! But if you do grow them in windy locations, a firm stake will help support their stems.
