To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

This Designer Daylily™ features dark blackish-purple 6" flowers with a silky halo around the lemon-green throat and occasionally highlighted edges. The very rich color has made Strutters Ball one of the most popular purples among Daylily enthusiasts!
Named after the popular song "Darktown Strutters' Ball" by Shelton Brooks in 1917, this Daylily blooms mid-season on heavily budded and well-branched scapes. Awards from the American Hemerocallis Society include the Award of Merit in 1992, Honorable Mention in 1989, and Junior Citation in 1986, it's easy to see why this perennial packs a punch!
A Designer Daylily™ is selected as a highly performing plant with exceptional bloom performance, substantive, vibrantly colored flowers, complete winter hardiness in northern zones, and a vigorous habit. Cold and heat-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, very little fazes this incredibly hardy tetraploid herbaceous perennial!
Planting and Application:
Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener no matter their experience or how busy they are! They will grow almost anywhere in the sun! Their tolerance of clay and poor soil, of drought and fire-prone locations, heat, humidity and chill, and their resistance to deer and rabbits almost make Daylily the perfect perennial! But expect plenty of butterflies, bees, and a few hummingbirds to invite themselves to the dance!
This radiant deep purple bloom is a must-have for standalone specimen plantings, in large groupings to maximize their color, or in rows to really catch the eye. Rising tall on 24-30 inches scapes, these are gorgeous cut flowers and airy waving edging! Great garden fillers both in Perennial and Cottage borders or in mixed containers, Strutters Ball Reblooming Daylily will glow as filler, spiller and thriller!
Planted together in large numbers and en masse, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful groundcover. Their toughness means these perennial ornamental plants thrive where others cannot! #ProPlantTips for Care:
Daylilies are easy-to-grow and prefer full sun but in areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your Daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust. Best in enriched, well-drained soil that has regular but moderate moisture access, but they will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions once established. Top dress with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch chips.
Deadhead spent buds as they fade and once the entire stem is done blooming, trim the entire scape to the crown of the plant to encourage a rebloom later in the summer. In late autumn after frost, remove all foliage to the ground and dispose of it away from the site to prevent rusts and diseases from overwintering. Divide the root system every 3-5 years to maintain vigor and flowering!
