Growing Zones 4-10
Peachy-pink ruffles are tough as nails! The Fairy Tale Pink Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Fairy Tale Pink') has peachy-pink blooms with a darker pink veining where the blooms originate in the throat region, and then fade towards the tips of the petals, a very delicate shade of pink with interesting color variations.
No one can simply walk by it! Those who pass by will stop and remark on its colors, ruffled petals, and understated grace! Blooming in midsummer, Hemerocallis are members of the Lily family, and the blossoms usually only last one day, but these clump-forming plants, with their gracefully arching strap-shaped leaves, produce enormous numbers of flowers throughout the summer. Then they rebloom throughout the growing season.
Perfect for cut flowers, their charm, and beauty will adorn your bouquets and entice pollinators and hummingbirds into your garden as well! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 10, Fairy Tale Pink is highly adaptable to both heat and chill! Growing up to 2 feet tall and up to 18 inches wide, this hardy perennial is wonderfully easy to grow!
Planting and Application:
Fairy Tale Pink can be used for stand-alone plantings where their beautiful pink blooms grace Cottage gardens, mixed perennial borders, and both cut flower and butterfly gardens! Wonderful front and middle-of-the-border accents, Daylilies are ideal for use as edging, in borders, and along pathways and the fronts of hedges.
The perfect size for use in mixed containers and tubs, prettying up patios and porches, and filling urns and balcony pots with their graceful foliage and charming flowers.
Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful groundcover, as en masse plantings on hard-to-mow hillsides and on slopes where rainwater can cause erosion. These tough perennials are also on many xeric landscaping and fire-wise defensible lists.
- Light Pinkish-Peach Fragrant Flowers
- Fragrant Ruffled Edges & Golden Throats
- Sized Arching Strappy Green Foliage
- Fragrant, Pollinator Friendly & Great in Containers
- Great For Xeric & Fire-Wise Landscaping
- Fantastic Accents, Specimens, En Masse & Erosion Control
#ProPlantTips for Care:
This reblooming perennial Daylily is relatively trouble-free and grows in both full sun and partial shade, and in almost any soil, as long as it is well-drained. Plant in mulched garden beds with 3-4 inches of arborist bark chips and enriched well-drained soil for best results. Provide new plants with moderate moisture on a regular basis, but once established, Daylilies are drought and occasionally soggy soil adaptable.
Deadhead to encourage rebloom, then trim the entire scape to the crown of the plant once all the buds are spent to clean up the mound. In late autumn after frost, remove all foliage to the ground and dispose of it away from the site to prevent rusts and diseases from overwintering. Divide in early spring. In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your Daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust.
Fairy Tale Pink, like all Daylilies, can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and Black Walnut tree juglone.
- Trouble-Free & Tolerant In Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Adaptable in Any Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture - Low Once Established
- Prune Late Fall, Deadhead Regularly & Divide Every 3-5 Years
- Seldom Bothered By Deer, Rabbits, Salt & Pests
