Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

New farm-to-florist favorite! The Dalmatian Peach Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmatian Peach') is known for its spots! Each individual salmon-peach-pink flared flower has dozens of dark freckles in its throat like a runway for pollinators! Dozens of individual florets densely line the tall, erect spikes to create an amazing vertical floral display!

The speckled throats act like a landing zone for bees and butterflies! Even a few Hummingbirds are lured in by these dazzling clusters of vertical blooms! These biennials form a dense rosette of leafy green foliage at the base of the tall spires, which slowly bloom from the bottom up to the tip for a long-lasting display!

If you're familiar with growing Foxgloves, the first thing you'll notice about Dalmatian Peach is that while most Foxgloves are biennials, this new hybrid will flower the first year! Not only that, but it will also produce the second year if left in place. And it freely seeds for continued flowers. Dalmatian Peach is wonderfully fast-growing and hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4-11 and can reach about 1-2 feet tall when in full bloom, and spread to about a foot wide.

Planting and Application:

Do you like having a flower garden that you can admire from your window as well as one that provides you with armloads of unique flowers to bring inside? Then you need to plant Dalmatian Peach Foxglove this year! This statuesque beauty and its towering stems are covered in soft peachy-apricot blooms that seem to glow from the inside out. This is an excellent addition to gardens and bouquets. It has recently been a striking new sight in floral wedding work.

They take the stage in pollinator borders and perennial beds where they add their stately beauty and height to the mix! The tall plants are very architectural and give great structure along a fence or in the middle of a border. These beauties are synonymous with cottage gardens in Europe and America! They look great in groups and clusters, as well as around a birdbath or behind a garden bench for a striking modern look. As pretty as they are in groups and borders, they also excel in large containers.

  • Salmony-Pink Spires Full of Densely Packed Speckled Florets
  • Lush Green Rosettes of Foliage
  • Long Lasting Architectural Blooms
  • Pollinator Friendly & Outstanding Cut Flowers!
  • Cottage & Perennial Borders, Back of the Garden Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Digitalis is an easy-to-grow biennial and very adaptable to many conditions, but performs best in full to partial sun exposure, with well-drained soil. Deer and rabbits are not interested in this plant. In areas where you have less sun, or have strong winds, it is recommended to stake these tall blooms for support. Cover their roots with 3-4 inches of mulch to hold in moisture and insulate the roots and water consistently to keep those blooms happy and healthy! Do not let them dry out.

Always wear gloves when handling this plant! Foxglove can be deadheaded immediately after the bloom finishes for a possible rebloom later in the season. Or, allow the plants to produce seed and let it ripen and drop so the plants can produce one-year plants for a successive crop of this biennial plant.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Enriched Well-Drained Soil
  • Consistent Moisture
  • Appreciates Mulched Garden Beds
  • May Need Staking
  • Prune in Fall or Early Spring
  • Use Caution and Wear Gloves When Handling Digitalis

Don't wait until everyone is growing these. Be the first in your neighborhood (or even at your local farmer's market) to have these freckled beauties blooming! Vertical, architectural blooms are both old-fashioned and modern! Get your own speckled Dalmatian Salmon Foxglove for the dramatic accent your garden or bouquet needs to add that extra dimension!
