Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Crisp white petals with orange and purple accents, order the Jeanne d'Arc Crocus (Crocus vernus 'Jeanne d'Arc') are lovely spring beacons! Hailing in the coming of spring in spectacular fashion. This specimen is one of the earliest bloomers so you won't have to wait very long at all to enjoy!

This specimen has large pristine white petals surrounding a bright orange stamen in the center. Snip a few for your little bouquets to perfume your dining table or bedside table! Outdoors, pollinators will adore these early-season nectar and pollen resources as much as you will! Sometimes these hardy corms are popping up among the receding snow!

The two-tone spiky green foliage clumps are a unique counter-contrast to the pure white cupped petals and form politely spreading little colonies over time. Freely naturalizing in the sunny garden each spring and quietly fading behind later emerging foliage to hide from the summer heat and sun.

Planting and Application:

Many gardeners and landscapers love using early-flowering Crocus for borders or edging and they look amazing in groups of a dozen or hundreds! They are truly very versatile flowers. From Pollinator beds and Rock Gardens, everything looks better with these little darling bulbs meandering throughout the sunny landscape each spring!

Planting a group of these in your flower bed will make you the talk of the neighborhood. If you don't feel like sharing though, Jeanne d'Arc Crocus likes containers just as much so you can plant yours and put it wherever you'd like. Wonderful for forcing, Crocus bulbs grown indoors over the winter in containers are heralds of spring to come.

  • Large Blossoms With Crisp White Blossoms
  • Orange Stamen & Purple Stems
  • Spiky Two-Tone Green Clumps of Foliage
  • Force Indoors For Winter Décor
  • Early Blooming Pollinator Plants & Cut Flowers
  • Great for Naturalizing, Excellent Container Plant & Spring Edging Color

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant in a full sun to part shade location in well-drained soil with regular moisture access their first year for success for years to come. Technically known as corms, Crocus bulbs should be planted in early fall, 2-3 inches down with their pointed end up, before the ground freezes, depending on your growing zone and climate. Crocus bulbs require at least six to eight weeks of what's known as 'chill hours' before they will sprout so ensure your winters will be cold enough, or you have stored them in cool storage before trying to force them indoors.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture
  • Trim Back Leaves After They Yellow
  • Easy to Grow Perennial Corms
