Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 4-9
Need an excellent space-saving landscaping tree and think having an Oak in a small yard is a pipe dream? The Crimson Spire™ Oak Tree (Quercus alba x robur 'Crimschmidt') can make that dream come true! There are few Oaks that look as vivid in the autumn and keep such a slim profile!
This fast-growing and robust Hybrid Oak is the perfect marriage of English and White Oaks. It grows faster than most other Oaks while it has dense green leaves that are some of the brightest on the market. The rounded lobed leaves offer dense fill throughout the compact branching.
The fiery red fall color is something to look forward to! Get the camera ready and snap photos of the wide range of birds, wildlife, and many family photos in front of these dramatic fall-color trees. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9, the Crimson Spire™ is a hardy tree that can handle some higher moisture locations thanks to its White Oak parentage.
Landscape Application:
Imagine pulling up to your home and being greeted by a driveway lined with Columnar Oaks that are blazing red! A single specimen on a raised berm on your front lawn or softening the corner of your home (5 - 7 feet from the foundation) will create a unique curb appeal unlike elsewhere in the neighborhood!
This tree is also a wonderful way to conserve lateral space while still enjoying a heritage tree. Oaks are also prime wildlife trees and provide shelter, nesting sites, and food! When you plant one, you'll be providing plenty of places for birds to rest and acorns for squirrels to carry off and bury.
Because of its high adaptability and tolerance of urban and poor soil environments, the Crimson Spire™ Oak is an excellent choice for lining the road to buffer traffic noise and give you and your family a bit more privacy!
The Crimson Spire™ Oak grows to 40 - 45 feet in height and stays narrow as it grows, making it a great choice as a large-scale screen or perimeter planting along your property line! If you want to create a scene worthy of painting, plant your backyard with a dappled mix of Oaks, including this red beauty!
- Big Green Leaves With Round Lobes
- Slender Columnar Form
- Medium Height & Full Dense Branching
- Fiery Red Fall Color
- Keystone & Legacy Tree In A Compact Size
- Excellent Screen, Privacy, Specimen & Wildlife Tree
#ProPlantTips for Care:
The Crimson Spire™ Oak Tree requires little to no care once established. In fact, it's drought-resistant and will grow in clay soils. It prefers full sun to reach its full potential. Because of its hardy nature and ability to thrive in any type of average to poor soil as long as it is well-drained.
Encourage a deep root system by establishing young trees with regular deep waterings and a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the root system. These Oaks can handle a bit more moisture than other plants because of their White Oak genetics but handle drought well once established thanks to their English Oak parentage. Prune if needed in the late winter.
