To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

A cute crimson creeper! The Tom Thumb Creeping Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster adpressus 'Tom Thumb') is an interesting, very dwarf, very dense, and compact groundcover-type of groundcover shrub!
Tom Thumb is a true dwarf, not only in that it remains very close to the ground, but even the leaves are smaller than the species! It's glossy and very fine-textured, shining in the sun! Forming mats of weed-choking mats of deciduous to sem-evergreen mounds 1 - 2 feet tall but spreading 4 - 6 feet wide!
It has a unique appeal because of its very shiny, small leaves that turn a brilliant crimson red in the autumn. Tom Thumb rarely produces flowers and fruit, but when it occurs, the blooms are small and pinkish-white. Then the very small, one-fourth, red fruit follows in autumn.
This Cotoneaster spreads by rooting where the branches touch the soil. Its branches are opposite along the stem so creates a herringbone effect or pattern! You'll get polite thickets and naturalized ground-covering plantings without any fuss!
Planting and Application:
These are incredible edging plants that remain low maintenance and easy to grow! Tom Thumb to ease the transition between lawn and garden bed, or just let fill in the bare ground between larger shrubs and Roses, or meander between perennials like a creeping living mulch.
Perfect facer plants, hide bare leggy stems of larger shrubs with Tom Thumb and use as low-growing fringe around garden features, trees, and your mailbox.
The spreading creeping abilities of these hardy shrubs make them ideal in Rock Gardens, for erosion control, and holding soil on hard-to-mow hillsides. Easy mass planting shrubs, you'll fill large areas with these as they root as they grow for fast fill.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This low-maintenance miniature woody shrub prefers drier soil and full-to-part sun. Cotoneasters' only requirement is very well-drained soil. Moderate moisture needs, these plants can be drought resistant, but a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch helps retain moisture.
It is a very charming plant and it is deer resistant. You'll rarely have to prune this slower-growing creeping shrub but you can any time. Mow around the shrub to keep its creeping growth contained, or dig up rooted portions to replant in other areas as needed.
