Dark pink flowers and bright foliage that love the shade, the Havana Coral Bell (Heuchera 'Havana') displays dense wands of large, bold pink panicles full of tiny bell-shaped blossoms! Backed by a rounded mound of gorgeous lime-green leaves that are veiled in a mist of white! These textured, pleated, and ruffled leaves become a highlight of your garden from spring through autumn, and sometimes into the mild winter months!
Havana creates a bright spot of lovely, bright color in a shaded area and shines even in northern climates! The foliage doesn't fade and the spring/summer blossoms are a fan favorite of every florist, pollinator, and Hummingbird around! Fill bouquets with vivid filler and fill the bellies of bees and butterflies with rich sweet nectar! Havana has another trick up its sleeve compared to other Coral Bells - because this popular variety is a repeat bloomer!
Also known as Alum Root, Coral Bells are very cold-hardy and heat tolerant as well as shrugging off humidity, deer and rabbits throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9! These sweet little flowering and foliage ornamentals grow just 8-14 inches in height when in bloom, and spread to an easy-to-manage 10-12 inches wide. Remaining semi-evergreen in mild winters and warm climates, you'll enjoy bright color nearly all year round!
Planting and Application:
Having a mounded, compact habit, this Coral Bell is an excellent choice for mixed or specimen containers and planter gardens as spillers and fillers. Havana is an excellent specimen for color in the cottage garden and mixed perennial border! Havana shines in groupings and rows, so use these low-maintenance perennials as facer plants, garden borders as edging, or even en masse!
The bold blooms look fantastic in the garden and call pollinators, and act like beacons in hummingbird gardens. Add to cutting gardens to fill your bouquets with airy filler. The smaller, space-saving size is highly adaptable in large and small gardens, around your poolside and decks, porches, and patios!
Create the shade garden of your dreams by mixing these bright perennials among Hosta, Ferns Strawberry Begonia, Iris, Lilies, and Peonies, and of course, with other Coral Bells! There's such a wide variety of colors to choose from that you'll have trouble choosing just one!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This Coral Bell grows best in organically rich, humus, medium-moisture, well-drained soils in part shade. It does well in more sun in the northern part of its range and afternoon shade to full shade in the south. Plant these Perennials in almost any kind of soil, it's best in moderately moist, organically rich, and humusy sites with especially well-drained soil. Keep Havana looking its best, be sure to water in hot, dry weather, giving the plant about one inch of water per week. A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill.
An easy-care perennial, Coral Bells should be cut back in the early spring. Divide every 3-5 years to maintain vigor. Tolerating heat and humidity, it is low-maintenance and performs well even in the South where it can display evergreen tendencies.
Cold and drought tolerant and withstanding heat and humidity, nothing seems to faze this plant. Deer resistant.
