The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones 3-8
Big, double, and perfumed, the Ruby Giant Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Ruby Giant') boasts enormous 7-inch flowers with a double row of rosy pink petals! These huge daisy-like blooms remain flat and do not droop like other Echinacea. Ruby Giants blooms are also long-lasting and abundant, sitting atop sturdy branched stems! Sure to provide color from early summer into fall!
Fragrant and long-lasting, the flowers rebloom freely and feed a host of native bees and honeybees, butterflies, Hummingbirds, and many other nectar and pollen-seeking beneficial insects!
And My! What big landing pads they will have! Ruby Giants blooms are big enough for all to share!
You'll have so many blooms that you won't feel bad stealing a few for your indoor vase bouquets! The dark green, pointed foliage, and strong branching will look great on their own supporting those brilliant blooms!
Once the flowers fade in the autumn, the spikey ruby red centers fade to brown but then comes the many Songbirds in search of seeds to eat! These also offer unique textures for winter interest. Wonderfully cold-hardy, Echinacea grows upwards of 30 inches tall when in bloom and spread up to 2 feet wide. Handling USDA planting zones 3 to 8 with ease, these perennials are deer, rabbit, heat, sun, and chill resistant!
Planting and Application:
Add cheerful color to your mixed borders, Cottage Gardens, and Rock Gardens. Coneflowers are also a must-have addition to Pollinator Gardens because Butterflies and hummingbirds can't resist the rich rose-red color! Some great companion plants for Ruby Giant are bright orange Daylilies, Ornamental grasses like Pink Muhly, and vibrant Black-Eyed Susan! They of course mix beautifully with other Coneflower!
Echinacea are tolerant of many things including drought, heat and humidity, and poor soil conditions, making them a must-have plant for the Xeric prairie garden, Fire-Wise landscape plan, and hot, sun-drenched pathways, as edging along the fronts of garden beds, mass plantings, and commercial sites, or that hell strip along a road, sidewalk, or driveway!
You can even pot these perennials up in planters and mixed containers or specimen porch pots for cheerful rosy pink beauty around seating areas, outdoor rooms, balconies, and back decks!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Coneflower are herbaceous perennials that need the power of full sunlight to bloom their best and have the strongest stems. Provide a very well-drained location that is enriched and planted with Nature Hills Root Booster for life-long symbiotic root system support! New plants need regular moisture access during their first year and during extended drought. Keep your investment stress-free with a 3-4 inch deep layer of arborist mulch.
Deadheading will encourage more branching and blooms, but be sure to leave some mature flowerheads on to provide seed for the birds throughout the fall and create winter interest. Clean mounds in the late fall or early spring by trimming them back to a couple of inches, and Divide the mounds every 3-5 years to maintain their vigorous bloom.
- Loves Full Sun!
- Any Well-Drained Soil Location
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Deadhead For Rebloom & Divide Every Few Years
- Deer Resistant, Drought-Tolerant, Heat, Sun, & Cold-Tolerant
