The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Your neighbors are going to think that you hired a professional landscaping company after seeing this perfectly manicured-looking, oval-shaped tree in your front yard!
You heard that correctly! There is little to no labor needed to keep your Columnar European Hornbeam Tree(Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata') looking this perfect! This magnificent deciduous tree has forest green foliage up until fall when it fades into a bright yellow coloration illuminating your yard effortlessly!
Featuring spring catkins like those of Birch, these long flowers dangle beneath the pleated, toothy, textured foliage. These flowers become papery cones that dangle through the summer and fall that birds love. The foliage becomes a vivid bright yellow and topaz in the autumn!
Landscape Application:
The slim profile Columnar European Hornbeam Tree lives to be the centerpiece of your landscaping with its large, flawless beauty and is best as a specimen plant. You will have everyone oohing! Plant one on a raised berm in your front lawn or in odd-numbered groupings that create bird-friendly groves!
Planting a row of these clean-cut trees creates an elegant property line that will make your yard look impressively put together. Columnar European gets about twice as tall as it will be wide with incredibly thick foliage making it a phenomenal privacy screen for your backyard patio.
A row of Hornbeams makes an elegant living wall, and this long-lived, resilient tree accepts heavy shearing if you decide to keep it clipped as a hedge.
Because of its rock-hard wood, the Hornbeam stands up to heavy snow loads, strong winds, and storms! The lumber has become widely used as tool handles, butcher blocks, and piano keys.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
To allow your tree to grow to its mature size, plant in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. This tree appreciates mulch over the roots to help maintain cool moist soil. These trees like regular moisture access their first year or so in the ground but are pretty self-sufficient but appreciate a drink during prolonged drought. Prune your tree to remove crossing branches, and broken or dead limbs in the late summer or autumn.
- Full Sun Trees
- Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Access
- Prune Late Summer/Autumn
- Very Strong Wood & Easy To Grow
