Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Do you have a cutting garden? You know, a space where you grow flowers so that you can bring in armloads of blooms to fill your vases? If you do, then you will definitely want to add Coed Hebe bush (Hebe 'Coed') to your garden this year! If you don't, then you'll want to start one with this Coed right away!

Hebe, sometimes called Veronica, is a lovely plant that slowly grows to its maximum height of 3-4 feet. The leaves are a rich green that makes a perfect backdrop for the lavender-pink spiraling candle-like flowers that cover the bush from late summer through the fall. The stems of Coed are a sweet treat, too. They are maroon/burgundy in color which makes them really stand out!

A mounded and showy broadleaf evergreen shrub, Hebe's are found on mountains and coastlines of New Zealand. Hardy throughout heat and sun, while standing up to humidity, these rounded shrubs really shine year-round because of their evergreen foliage.

Landscape Application:

In warm zones 8-10, it is a hardy evergreen that forms a fantastic shrub border or edging. The year-round leaves provide screening and low privacy hedges. Easy to grow and forgiving, mass plantings become low-maintenance spectacles where tricky problem areas once stood.

Keep these easy-going plants in pots and planters on your front porch and smaller settings or show them off as your home's foundation hedge! Without any worry that they will block the windows or your view!

Cut flower gardens and pollinator borders are ideal locations for these flowering ornamentals! But they also look great as backdrops in Rock Gardens and coastal Cottage Gardens alike!

  • Jewel-Like Purple Flowers
  • Flowering From Summer Through Fall
  • Glossy Broadleaf Evergreen Leaves
  • Fantastic Pollinator Plants & Beautiful Cut Flowers
  • Hedges, Screening, Backdrops & Container Gardens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Hebe bushes love full sun and partial sun locations in about any type of soil as long as it is well-drained. Provide moderate regular moisture throughout their establishment year, but once they are settled, Hebe's are low-water usage plants!

All shrubs appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the roots to ensure moisture retention and keep the roots cool. Tolerant of a wide range of coastal conditions and soil pH ranges, and even seldom bothered by deer unless desperate, these are wonderfully low-maintenance ornamentals!

Prune back to a node in the early spring before new buds begin to emerge and deadhead to keep the shrub looking fresh and encourage new blooms. You can also use renewal pruning to revitalize these shrubs by removing the oldest, fattest stems to allow new growth to take their place.

  • Full Sun to Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Soil - Tolerates Coastal Conditions
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
  • Prune Early Spring
  • Deer Seldom Bother These Shrubs

These easy-to-grow beauties are a great addition to any garden - cutting or not - so make sure to order yours from NatureHills.com today!
