The Chuckles Shrub Rose Bush (Rosa 'Chuckles') is a hardy Canadian-bred Landscaping Rose that is a cheerful flowering little darling of a shrub that will inject joy into your landscape! The large clusters of bright pink blooms that envelope the entire small-scale Rose bush are sure to bring a smile to your face! Chuckles Roses bloom in clusters like a Floribunda Rose and each cluster can be so large that they cover the foliage! The sweet, single fuchsia blooms are 2½" across!

Growing into a small-footprint shrub that fills out in dark green foliage until fall! The wide-open landing pads for bees and butterflies are single to semi-double hot pink Roses with a prominent white eye full of rich pollen and nectar for your pollinators! Just a single cane from the Chuckles Rose will fill a large vase in your home with cheerful and fragrant nearly-wild-looking Roses! In fact, the flowers resemble a Nearly Wild Rose with a richer pink color and the same rounded habit.

This plant is cold-hardy and is a great choice for Northern landscapes as it is for hot growing zones throughout USDA hardiness zones 4 to 9! Chuckles then has a last surprise for you as it develops red Rosehips that persist until late fall and even as winter interest. You will make your songbirds happy by providing these Rose Hips, so you'll be adding winter interest, Vitamin-C-rich tea and preserves, and decorative branches for fresh and dried décor!

Planting and Application:

Growing like a small Shrub Rose, Chuckles can be grown as a small bush or used as a low-growing flowering hedge. In the landscape, that lighter eye really keeps your interest and the open petals are ideal bullseyes for beneficial pollinators! The whole flower seems to glow in the sunlight! These cheerful blooms and their carefree nature are also the perfect gift for all occasions!

Use Chuckles as radiant en masse drifts, vivid backdrops and borders, or cheerful groupings that will be full of butterflies and birds! Small-sized enough to use as taller edging and lining pathways, or filling in gaps among your mixed shrub borders. You could use this as a low hedge to define your landscape, or even as a fun and light-hearted container thriller!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Shrub Roses need full sun and good air circulation to do their best. Provide moderate moisture regularly throughout the heat of summer. Plant in enriched, highly organic, and fertile soil that is well-drained and well-mulched to hold in moisture.

Prune your Rose in early spring, and you will want to deadhead spent blossoms for better flower production. In the colder zones, this Rose will need to be cut back to about 8 inches or so each spring. But as this plant is grown on its own root - it quickly regrows to full size each year and is a flowering machine! Learn about winterizing, and un-wintering your Roses in our Garden Blog, plus all the tips and tricks you need when pruning your new prize Rose bush!
