Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Please note that some items include an additional handling surcharge, these will be noted on the item's product page.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Dessert is served! You’ll love this tropical-looking deciduous shrub with amazing golden yellow-green leaves! Cherry On Top™ Sorbaria (Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Bococot' ) looks reminiscent of Sumac but it’s actually in the False Spirea family. A colonizing shrub that will gradually naturalize and create dense drifts of feathery foliage and wands of feathery plume-like blooms!
The golded new leaves are a vibrant orange-red before becoming almost chartreuse and add fine texture to these mounding shrubs! A much tidier, neater and smaller form, these Sorbaria are as equally super hardy and wildly adaptable to most conditions!
The tall plumes of feathery white flowers resemble Astilbe or Tree Lilacs in summer turn to red seed pods through fall for a striking appearance and colorful winter interest! The dense clumps that form provide a perfect safe haven for birds and wildlife, while the autumn seeds feed the birds! All this is highlighted by lively red stems too!
Planting and Application:
Cherry On Top™ features elegant foliage that softens hardscapes and corners of sheds or your home! Let groupings colonize a back corner of your property or fill in an outdoor space that you’d prefer a bit more privacy in. The graceful foliage hides unsightly views with color, butterflies and birds!
Creating groupings naturally by suckering, let them create informal mass plantings which not only dampen sound and provide shelter but are ideal for preventing soil erosion and bank stabilization. Plant in pollinator gardens, naturalized and wildlife areas, and tropical flair without the tropical fuss around seating areas and poolside!
- Fine-Textured Tropical Golden-Green Foliage
- Pollinator & Bird-Friendly
- Colorful New Growth & Amazing Fall Color
- White Fluffy Plumes of Foamy Flowers
- Red Seed Pods & Seeds - Winter Interest
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Sorbaria is incredibly cold-hardy! Handling as low as growing zone 2, and even growing up into zone 10, they are also surprisingly heat-tolerant as well! Provide a full sun to part shade location in about any kind of well-drained soil with regular access to water. Prune back in spring if needed, and to prevent spreading, remove suckers in spring to maintain size.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Adaptable to Most Well-Drained Soil
- Heat & Cold Tolerant
- Deer Resistant
- Prune in Spring
