Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Pretty shades of purple and pink, the upright pointed spires of the showy Peacock™ Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii 'Peakeep') will attract all the winged and two-legged attention from far and wide! Better yet, this is a new cultivar that will not crowd its neighbors in your garden!

Peacock™ is about one-third the size of most Butterfly Bush varieties, but the full-sized blooms are just as fragrant and the butterflies and Hummingbirds still love them! Fragrant pink Peacock™ Butterfly Bush, also known as English Butterfly™, are extra bushy and compact, and feature the family foliage that's just as aromatic.

Growing just 4-5 feet in height and a bit slimmer in width, this Buddleja, as it is sometimes spelled, is equally hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 9 as the rest of the easy-to-grow family.

Planting and Application:

Peacock™ is perfect for smaller gardens and urban courtyards! Use this more space-saving shrub throughout the sun landscape, interjecting pops of color to the mixed shrub border and mixed perennial garden alike! A mid-sized backdrop and back-of-the-border plant, you'll create luscious and airy hedges and screening with these fast-growing flowering ornamentals!

Prominent specimens and focal points and must-haves for the Pollinator garden, the airy branching won't hide other plants behind them, nor block your view entirely, making Peacock™ a wonderful mixer in Cottage and Rock Gardens! Plant one in the children's garden so they can enjoy the butterflies they bring and play with wands of scented flowers! Peacock™ can also be used as container garden plants in milder winter climates.

  • Spikes of Fragrant Flowers In Shades of Pink
  • Attracts Butterflies & Hummingbirds
  • Versatile Sun Garden Perennial or Shrub
  • Aromatic Mounded Airy Foliage
  • Mid-Sized Backdrops, Hedges, Light Screening & Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Buddleia Bushes are low-maintenance shrubs in full sun but do need very well-drained soil. While Buddleia are low-water usage once established, they do appreciate supplemental moisture during drought and the summer months to keep the flowers returning until frost. Provide a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch to support your shrub's root system.

Deadheading keeps blooms returning until frost but wait until early spring to prune to ensure a dense, more floriferous shrub. In cold climates, you will want to cut these plants back to the ground because this plant acts like an herbaceous perennial. However, when grown in warm growing zones, these woody shrubs only need an early spring trim will help ensure the best performance and best flowers. The Peacock™ exhibits good deer resistance and handles occasional brief droughts too.

  • Heat Tolerant & Full Sun
  • Moderate Moisture & Fertility
  • Blooms on New Wood - Prune Early Spring
  • Rarely Damaged By Deer
  • Drought Tolerant Once Established
  • Non-Invasive - Easy to Grow Without Self-Seeding
