Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The foliage of Bronze Anniversary™ will provide a medley of colors for your yard, beginning in spring with its bronzy-orange cast that matures to a golden lime color for the summer. With the advance of autumn, your Abelia's foliage gives a final blast of color with darker, purplish hues in the fall! Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 6 to 9, Deer and pests rarely bother these shrubs unless desperate.

Landscape Application:

Clothed from spring through fall with its terminal clusters of delicate pink and white, small, tubular flowers, Bronze Anniversary™ is often a prized specimen by landscapers and gardeners for both formal and informal landscaping, sheared or left to grow into their mounding natural beauty!

The bright bronzy orange spring color and lime green summer color of Bronze Anniversary™ melds beautifully with other similar colored foliage plants, dark foliage shrubs, and lights up the landscape!

A single specimen stands out, but groupings and rows would make a terrific shrub border or do well as a foundation planting in your landscape without blocking windows. Enliven a tired hedge or row of evergreens, brighten the top of a retaining wall, or use as hedges and low-screening.

These 3-4 foot tall and wide deciduous shrubs work great as backdrops to your garden or as pathway edging, flowering curb appeal, and colorful pops of flowers and fragrance among the mixed shrub border. Tuck these flowering gems into both your rugged Rock Gardens and romantic Cottage borders!

  • Bronzy Orange New Growth, Glossy Golden-Lime Green Leaves & Purple Fall Tones

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Abelia are very easy-to-grow ornamentals and do best in full sun and even part shade are adaptable to a variety of well-draining soils and are very easy to care for. Thriving best in slightly acidic soils, these shrubs have low watering needs once established. Water well through their first year as they established and after that is pretty tough!

Apply a three-inch layer of mulch over the root system, but pull it back six inches from the stems, and reapply as needed. They don't need much pruning to maintain their natural form in the late winter.

It's quite simply a delightful shrub with a lot to offer! These deciduous Abelia are known for having a strong root system and are wonderfully easy to grow! Even the neighborhood deer will leave it alone unless they are desperate!

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
  • Any Well-Drained Soil
  • Prune Late Winter
  • Low-Maintenance & Deer Resistant
