Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

As legends go, this Crocus comes back to life every spring, roaming gardens, haunting gardeners with its ghostlike beauty. Well, that might not be entirely accurate…The Blue Pearl Crocus (Crocus 'Blue Pearl') does have an ethereal glow!

It also does return to life spring after spring. As for haunting, though, most gardeners celebrate the emergence of these pearlescent beauties rather than shy away from their presence. The satin-like quality of these petals makes this petite pearl of a flower seem to glow! This Blue Pearl has a pearl of its own hidden tucked into its center. As the Blue Pearl Crocus's petals slowly open, its golden throat becomes visible.

The Blue Pearl Crocus is by far one of the most attractive varieties of Crocus. Its goblet-shaped bloom glows against its green foliage. Its outer petals have deckled blue centers that transition to a pale blue around the edges.

Planting and Application:

These Crocuses are highly desirable as rare blue beauties. As some of the first flowers to emerge in spring, they're a sight for sore eyes! Brighten Rock Gardens, and include these radiant perennial bulbs in your Moon Garden and Cottage border!

Blue Pearl Crocuses make for an opulent show when planted en masse. They stand out against taller foliage and look great grouped in a pollinator border, scattered along a garden path, or around your mailbox or hardscaping. Many agree that the Blue Pearl Crocus also shows best as a woodland planting where the woods meet your yard.

Crocus are fantastic for both early spring color outdoors and even winter forcing indoors! Containers and small-scale gardens are perfect for these larger-than-life perennial bulbs!

  • Early Spring Iridescent Blue Petals with Golden Throats
  • Award-Winning (AGM 1993) Perennial Bulbs
  • Great in Containers Indoors & Out
  • Early Spring Blooms For Pollinators
  • Easy Care Edging, Borders, En Masse & Container Plants!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Crocus corms thrive in full sun to partial shade. Plant in more sun in a protected location for earlier blooms, and in partly shaded exposed areas for later blooms. Provide moderate moisture and some bulb fertilizer when planting in the fall. When forcing bulbs indoors, or so they will bloom in the spring, these fall-planted bulbs need at least 6-8 weeks of Chill Hours. This chill time stimulates them to bloom, so if you are in a warm winter climate or growing them for winter color, give them a cool location to rest before planting. Trim the foliage back after it yellows in the late summer or fall after frost.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Any Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Clean Foliage After It Yellows
  • Deer Resistant
  • Low Maintenance Perennial Bulb

Invite the joy and sunshine into your early spring garden on a grand scale! Pick up your Yellow Mammoth Crocus today and enjoy some of the largest Crocus blooms you'll ever see!
