Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Year-long brilliance, treat yourself to a little piece of heaven in your garden with Blue Heaven Little Bluestem Grass (Schizachyrium scoparium 'MinnblueA'). This angelically beautiful grass has been blessed with striking colors and stunning texture!
Blue Heaven Little Bluestem Grass grows tall in dense and expressive clumps. It's a more upright form of the native with better blue color and less of a tendency to flop over! This great grass features bluish-green new growth that blushes to a glowing amber, bright rose red, and garnet. This showy grass isn't through and shows off more as it mellows to a spicy bronze that lasts through winter!
And while the Blue Heaven Little Bluestem Grass's foliage is striking in its own right, its 3-inch long racemes really create an additional spectacle in fall. These tall plumes flutter in the breeze and catch the eyes of passersby with their violet and golden hues. Once these flowers fade, they're replaced with puffs of silvery seed heads. Both fresh and dried, they look fantastic when added to a bouquet or dried arrangement.
Planting and Application:
This tall, strong Ornamental grass is a great choice for gardeners with a penchant for native-looking prairie plantings and their informal wild feel. It also grows fabulously in the north and northwest because of its extreme cold hardiness! A full-sun grass, Little Bluestem does fantastic in extreme heat and sun all day long just as beautifully!
This bright and joyous grass makes a perfect choice for rain gardens, native gardens, wildflower plantings, and wooded margins. It will add excellent vertical impact in your cottage garden or as a back-of-the-border planting, and low screen. Really show it off in groupings and en masse plantings that will barely require you to lift a finger to keep them looking spiffy!

#ProPlantTips for Care
Wonderfully cold and heat-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 10, Little Bluestem Ornamental Grasses do best in well-drained soil with full sun. Regarding soil quality, you don't have to pamper this pretty grass! It does well in almost any well-drained soil, including clay. It does well when cut back heavily in late winter or early spring and appreciates being divided every 3-5 years to maintain vigor. Be patient with warm-season grasses because they will take a bit longer to green up in the spring, but then holds strong and steady all summer through winter.
