True blue Allium, the Azureum Blue Globe Allium (Allium 'Azureum Blue Globe') produces one huge cluster of perfectly blue blooms atop a tall, sturdy stalk. Such striking visual impact and color on an early-blooming bulb! The tightly packed round clusters of starry florets bring in the bees and pollinators.
The basal rosette of coarse strappy leaves has an oniony smell that is faint, and is a pretty fringe for the tall slender stems that bloom all spring! The flowers are showy and the dried flowers are just as unique! Spray paint these dried blooms for whimsical garden additions, or snip the blooms for fresh-cut bouquets and use the dried blooms in dried arrangements!
Also known as Flowering Onions or Ornamental Onions, these big round balls of whimsy grow perennially throughout USDA planting zones 4-9, growing up to 20 inches tall when in bloom.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Allium are ornamental members of the Onion family, but don't worry, they don't smell like Onions unless you crush their foliage. But please don't try to eat them! For best performance, provide the Allium with full sun for the strongest stems, best color, and vigorous growth.
Plant them in fast-draining soil that doesn't pool after rain, which will rot these bulbs. Sandy soils or gravel, rocky soil are no problem as Allium are not particular about soil type, it just needs to be well-drained.
Cold hardy and deer-resistant, these spring-flowering perennial bulbs can remain in the soil year-round and get bigger and better each year. Deadhead the flowers once they've faded if desired, but let the foliage stay intact as long as it remains green. This way it can continue making food for the bulb and next year's flower! Once the green foliage turns yellow and brown it can be removed and cleaned up for the summer.
