To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

 

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

The fantastic Audubon® Native Snowberry Bush (Symphoricarpos albus) is a low, spreading accent shrub that’s perfect for covering the ground and forming groups, colonies and thickets for birds and wildlife to take shelter in!

The unique berries that birds and wildlife devour, start in spring as clusters of darling bell-shaped blossoms in ranges of pink to light pink to white. These dainty flowers attract hummingbirds and a plethora of native bees and other pollinators. Also known as, the Waxberry and White Coralberry and Ice Apple because the fruit forms plump, frosty-white fruits persist through late summer until autumn.

The rounded dark green foliage forms along the slender arching stems, arranged in opposite pairs, creating a unique landscape appearance! These natives are rambling, spreading groundcovers, or mounding low shrubs and are a huge boon for berry and insect-eating birds!

Planting and Application:

Common Snowberry are great for tucking into mixed shrub borders, groupings, and naturalized, native plantings. The white clusters of berries stand out in the landscape through fall and winter, at least until the birds find them! The blooms make these suitable for Pollinator Gardens, while their moisture-loving roots make them fantastic in Rain Gardens.

Its dense, twiggy growth makes a welcoming habitat for ground-dwelling birds and other small animals. Feeding and sheltering Thrushes, Waxwings, Grosbeaks, Turkeys, Grouse, Quail Pheasants, and Prairie Chickens. The root systems are perfect for erosion control, steep hillsides and slopes, or as naturalized borders and low hedges.
