The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Growing Zones 3-9
With their striking pattern of rising and falling petals, it's easy to see why the famous Fleur-de-lis design took its cues from the Flag Iris that grew in royal gardens across France! The regal Attention Please Bearded Flag Iris (Iris germanica 'Attention Please') is a modern take on this historic flower!
It demands that you look at it when it blooms in your garden in spring and early summer! Attention Please is a real eye-catcher! This beautiful flower is a stunning combo of violet splashed with yellow fuzzy 'beards', white, and burgundy.
These Bearded Iris bring in the Bees, butterflies, and Hummingbirds, but deer, rabbits, and squirrels will seldom bother with them. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 9, these smaller-sized Iris make up for their 2-foot height and 1-foot spread by sheer vibrant color!
Planting and Application:
These symbols of grace and civility look as challenging to grow as it is to bake the perfect souffle, but they are actually so easy that you'll wonder why every garden doesn't have these. If you can grow Daylilies, you can grow Bearded Iris!
Attention Please Iris looks great anywhere, but try it next to a pond or fountain so its reflection is caught in the water. It blends well with the strap-like leaves of Daylilies and Ornamental Grasses. Or create your own mini-Versailles and enclose a stand of these Bearded Iris in a Boxwood enclosed hedge.
You'll benefit from the many scented cut flowers you'll gain from planting extra in the form of groupings and in long winding rows! Add bi-color elegance to your Pollinator, and Cottage gardens, upright texture to mixed Perennial borders and mixed planters, and rugged beauty to Rock Gardens!
- Multi-Hued Violet-Purple, White Speckles & Yellow Bearded Flowers
- Eye-Catching Heavy Bloomer & Long-Lasting Multiple Buds
- Upright Sword-Like Leaves & Smaller Sized Clumps
- Pollinator, Hummingbird & Bee-Friendly
- Beautiful Cut Flowers
- Sun Landscapes, Pollinator Gardens, Groupings & Containers
#ProPlantTips For Care
Tall Bearded Iris is a clump-forming German Iris that grows from spreading underground rhizomes. Iris will grow best in full sun locations of your garden, but is not intolerant to afternoon shade in hotter growing zones. Iris prefers to be planted in well-draining, average to moist soil but can manage drier conditions as well.
Top-dress with a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the base to conserve moisture and protect the rhizomes, which prefer to be partly planted in the ground instead of planted deeply. Deadhead the flowers as they fade and trim back the foliage when it yellows in the autumn. Every 3-5 years, divide the clumps to keep them growing vigorously.
This delightful plant is relatively low maintenance and hardy. Deer and rabbits seldom bother with them and they have few pests and diseases when kept stress-free.
- Full Sun & Afternoon Shade
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Well-Drained Rich Soil
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Trim Stems in Late Autumn
- Pest, Deer & Rabbit-Resistant

Information About Bare Root Iris
Plant Iris about 15-18 inches apart. Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots.
When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover them in the spring.
