Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 3-8
Cold-hardy and bold red plumes, the Radius Astilbe (Astilbe x 'Radius') is an outstanding new hybrid False Spirea that kicks off the spring when the foliage emerges dark red before maturing to dark green for the rest of the growing season!
Radius blooms profusely in mid-summer when the dark-red flower buds open to deep rose-red plumes that butterflies and hummingbirds love! Radius blooms are slightly fragrant and make great cut flowers for bouquets and can even be dried for botanical arrangements.
Amazingly cold-tolerant throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 8, Radius grows tall at 18 - 24 inches on strong stems, but spreads into lacy mounds 16 to 20 inches wide! Also known as Meadowsweet and False Spirea, Astilbe are hardy perennial plants that are easy to grow!
Landscape Application:
These showy red blooms look incredible in your informal and formal shade garden spots, bringing in the butterflies and hummingbirds to your perennial and cottage borders, cut flower gardens, and beneath the understory of woodland garden settings.
This is a spreading herbaceous perennial that will fill in quickly wherever it's happy! Creating easy mass plantings and drifts! Line walkways and the shady side of an evergreen hedge with these versatile perennials! It looks fantastic in big drifts in the shade border or under big trees where other plants might struggle.
On the flip side, Radius is a must-have bold addition to smaller gardens, covered seating areas, and decks, or your shaded porches, both in the ground or in mixed planters and containers! Astilbe are frilly foliage accents with outstanding summertime blooms that work beautifully as edging and finishing touches around the landscape!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Astilbes are long-lived perennials that are most comfortable when grown in rich soil and light shade to filtered sun. They will grow in full shade in the hottest of their favorite growing zones, but will not bloom as prolifically there. Though they are easy to grow, Astilbes have one critical requirement - consistently moist soil as drying out leads to a quick loss of flowers and eventually stress.
Provide mulched beds for insulation and to increase the organic matter in the soil, while holding in moisture consistently! Deadheading cleans up the mounds and you can use the dried blooms in bouquets, or leave the dried seed heads intact to provide late-season interest. Cut back hard in spring before new growth emerges and fertilize at this time too.
- Partial Shade Perennial
- Well-Drained Soil That's Organically Enriched
- Consistent Moisture Access
- Prune Early Spring Before New Growth
- Herbaceous Perennial Comes Every Year
- Resists Rabbits & Deer
