Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The Music™ Country & Western Astilbe PP#14969 (Astilbe x 'Country and Western'), also known as False Spirea or Meadowsweet, is a colorful feathery flowering perennial with bright, puffy, salmon-pink blooms and shiny deep green foliage!

Country & Western is part of the new Music™ series of Astilbes which are known for their large puffy blooms. The elegant fluffy flowers contrast wonderfully with the glossy heavily dissected lacy foliage, rising high above the leaves on tall stems throughout the early summer weeks. Much to the delight of your many visiting butterflies and hummingbirds!

Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 9, being very heat and cold-tolerant in a wide range of growing zones throughout the US. These mounded perennials shine before and after the flowers arrive! Growing on sturdy stems, Country & Western Astilbe grows 14 - 16 inches in height, and the mounds spread up to 30 inches wide.

Landscape Application:

The Country & Western Astilbe create an amazingly refined border look in the garden. Use this showy perennial for beautiful summer color in shadier areas of your landscape. Ideal spreading perennials for mass plantings, Astilbe works as an excellent ground cover or edging plant for shady areas!

Completely at home as an understory planting, use these as facer plants to hide the leggy bare stems of larger shrubs and trees. Or, skirt large trees or garden structures for a clean and finished look!

Perfectly sized for use in containers and planters, even window boxes are fitting sites for these graceful plants! Add a potted Astilbe on your porch, patio, or balcony! Welcome visitors to your shaded front steps with a matched pair of Country & Western as showy thrillers with a fringe of groundcover Ajuga or Hardy Geranium as a lovely spiller!

Update tired Cottage gardens and moist rock gardens, or add some dramatic color and light, airy foliage around your water features where Astilbe can soak up the extra moisture. You will be delighted to see how this plant forms a graceful perennial garden addition or adds beauty to shade gardens! Try planting with Bleeding Hearts, Barrenworts, Hostas, and Ferns!

  • Early Summer Pink Puffy Blooms
  • Lacy Deep Green Leaves
  • Attracts Pollinators & Hummingbirds
  • Airy Finery For Bouquets & Dried Decor
  • Lovely Edging, Container Plants, Massing & Easy Shade Garden Accents

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Astilbes grow best in rich well-drained soil and in partial sun/partial shade settings, but can handle more sun in cooler zones and more shade in hotter climates. The biggest key to the successful growth of your Astilbes is moisture access, as they require consistent water access and a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch to assist in keeping the soil moist. Prune back the mounds in the early spring and fertilize your perennials at this time. Every few years you can divide your clumps to separate them and keep them tidier.

  • Part Shade Loving Plant
  • Well-Drained Organically Enriched Location
  • Loves Consistently Moist Soil
  • Prune Back In Early Spring
  • Deer & Rabbit Resistant

Lovely pink fluffy blooms and glossy lush lacy green leaves, the Music™ series Country & Western Astilbe lights up the shaded garden with its fluffy beauty! Order yours today at NatureHills.com!
