Perfect for native plantings, drought-tolerant xeriscapes, and fire-resistant landscaping, the sunny juicy hues of the Arizona Apricot Blanket Flower (Gaillardia aristata 'Arizona Apricot') charms your eye with its very fresh feel and non-stop color!

Huge, glowing apricot-yellow blooms soften into a warm apricot, nearly orange as they age. This colorway hasn't been seen before, and it's just gorgeous! Lovely forked petals and a spikey, crown of apricot to orange stamen, complete their glowing faces and Arizona Apricot radiates like large gilded daisies! Raised, smooth centers of yellow are perfect landing pads for bees and butterflies! Each bloom has ample nectar and pollen for all!

Plus the non-stop blooming all growing season until fall provides your floral arrangements with loads of blooms - the more you snip, the more they bloom! You'll be amazed at how prolific this selection will be for you. Easy care and highly adaptable, it was selected as the 2011 All-American Selection Winner! Extremely heat and cold hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 through 10, there's not much that will stop this perennial! Even deer and rabbits tend to pass it by!

If you are looking for reliable summer color in hot, dry sunny borders, you'll get a ton of bang for your buck with this one! This beloved native plant brings you so many butterflies and hummingbirds to your landscape too! They'll love the feast you provide for the entire season. Arizona Apricot Blanket Flower is perfect for Rock gardens or other poor soil gardens! Regarding Firescaping and Xeriscaping, this plant is a champion! Use en masse on any hot, dry site or sandy and sunny slope for erosion control and color. Gaillardia are also perfect accents and edging along pathways, driveways and that tricky 'hell strip' between the sidewalk and street!

No space? No problem! Arizona Apricot is just as happy in a large planter or terra cotta pot around your patios, balconies, or front porch container gardens!

  • Glowing Golden-Apricot Color & Deeper Orangy Centers
  • Very Long Bloom Season
  • Compact, Vigorous Mounds of Green Foliage
  • Pollinator Heaven & Ample Nectar & Pollen Resource
  • Xeric & Firescaping
  • Containers, Edging, Specimens, Space-Saving Beds & Borders

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Arizona Apricot Gaillardia grows vigorously to a 12-inch tall and wide herbaceous perennial mound. Thriving in average to low fertility and almost any type of well-drained soil. Doing their very best in full sun only. Tolerant to dry soils and drought once established, Blanket Flower does not do well in heavy clay soils. Gaillardia self-seeds, so deadhead after the blooms fade is recommended, and to encourage new blooms in profusion! Prune back in late fall once the foliage begins to yellow.

  • Absolutely Loves the Sun
  • Low to Average Soil Moisture
  • Well-Drained Average Soil
  • Deadhead to Prevent Reseed & Encourage More Blooms
  • Prune Back Late Fall
  • Easy-Care, Adaptable, Drought-Tolerant, Deer & Rabbit Resistant
