This hybrid variety was discovered as a chance seedling in a block of Amsonia tabernaemontana with the other parent plant unknown. The obvious differences with the parent plant was the compact habit, with a longer flowering time and more vigorous growth rate. They thrive in average soil in full sun to part shade. The only pruning necessary is to cut the seed heads off in the fall, unless you want more seedlings to expand the planting. This native plant loves to reseed.
