The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones 4-9
Get your garden on high alert with the Alert Dwarf Aster (Aster novi-belgii 'Alert')! Big bold magenta pink blooms have golden yellow centers that look like they've been kissed by the sun! So deep pink they can look red in the garden! The double blooms just beg to be planted front and center in your landscape and planters!
What would Autumn be without that eye-catching color? This standout plant delivers real visual impact with a high contrast of bright yellow eyes against blooms of outstanding rouge! Be thrilled with the number of butterflies and pollinators that absolutely smother this cute little plant before their long yearly migration South. They'll really appreciate your foresight in providing a late-season nectar source.
Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 through 9, these are more heat tolerant than other Asters. But still keeping all the cold-hardiness and low maintenance needs as the carefree native cousins. Deer won't even bother them often either!
Planting and Application:
Don't worry - this Aster won't get all leggy on you, as it's been carefully selected to stay small. Neat and tidy mounds look fantastic added to existing gardens and to clean up the edges of pathways, along the driveway or a sidewalk. Ring your mailbox or a garden urn with vibrant color and dress up a tired summer garden with fresh color that erupts when everything else is calling it quits for the year!
In the landscape, these are light and airy ornamental perennials to add late-season edging and front garden border color! Adding mounded round form and small size that is more than made up for by the brilliant color! Add to cottage borders and anywhere in the sun garden, perennial border or container gardens! Just one or two of these plants turns any garden into a pollinator garden! Pot up onto your porch and patio, around seating areas and anywhere you want a front row seat to the pollinator show!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Super easy care when grown in moist, these herbaceous perennials prefer well-drained soil and full sun. Plant Alert where your hose can reach it, as it prefers moist soil and a healthy bed of mulch to keep its roots cool and hydrated. This Aster doesn't like to dry out in the summer heat. Pinching back the stem tips in late spring and early summer will produce denser growth and heavier blooming. This plant may be divided every few years in the spring.
- Full Sun Loving
- Adaptable Cold & Heat Hardy
