Bringing a becoming blush to one of the world's most popular landscape shrubs...Limelight Prime® Panicle Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'SMNHPPH') blooms start with lime green and age white, then into bright shades of pink and even red with cool nights.
Enjoy colorful, cone-shaped blooms for many months with this floriferous reblooming Panicle Hydrangea. The flowers are held up high on strong stems, so there's no fear of flopping with this field-tested selection - even after a rainfall! With those same sturdy stems of Limelight Prime®, you'll have fresh material to craft your own bouquets and indoor arrangements. Enjoy the blooms fresh, then dry them for naturally welcome winter décor.
Compact and charming, Limelight Prime® will turn heads no matter where you plant it. Exceptionally cold-hardy, even Northern Gardeners can have a season filled with beautiful blooms. Plant throughout USDA growing zones 3-9, these easy-care and low-maintenance flowering shrubs are just what the landscape doctor ordered!
Planting and Application:
Weave a curving hedge at the base of tall evergreen trees. Consider bringing in extra soil and mulch to create a raised planting mound for organic appeal, then underplant them with colorful, contrasting Sedum or dark-hued Ajuga groundcover. Plant them four feet apart on center for a solid screen; measuring from the center of one to the center of the next. Stagger additional rows in a zig-zagging planting pattern and en masse them to fill a large area of your property.
Pop one or many in decorative garden pots to gain a high-end designer look on your pool deck or patio. Group several coordinated pots together for an easy, breezy style you'll appreciate for years. Plant fashionable, ombré tones with a trio of NatureHills.com top sellers. Use Limelight Hydrangea as the backdrop, then add both Limelight Prime® and Little Lime Punch® in a triangular planting, spacing between the center of the plants to reach the largest size listed in the Plant Highlights.

#ProPlantTips for Care
Plant Limelight Prime® Panicle Hydrangea in either full sun or partial shade where it will receive at least four hours of direct sunlight a day. Well-drained soil is best, but there is no need to be concerned about soil pH. Panicle Hydrangea will bloom on new wood each year; so prune it back by a third in early spring. Remove crossing branches and any branches that may be damaged at that time.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Moderate Moisture & Well-Drained Soil
- Prune Early Spring Before New Growth Starts
- Blooms on New Wood
- Adaptable to Most Soil Types
