Blue Cascade Rosemary is a graceful, trailing variety of rosemary that transforms walls, containers, and garden edges with its elegant cascading branches and abundant blue flowers. Unlike upright rosemary varieties, Blue Cascade produces elegantly arching stems that spill beautifully downward, creating a flowing, ornamental display while still delivering the aromatic, culinary herb you know and love. Fragrant silver-green foliage with a hint of citrus and pine perfumes the air, and blue spring flowers attract bees and other pollinators.
- Cascading, trailing habit, ideal for walls, raised beds, and containers
- Large, vivid blue flowers in spring on gracefully arching branches
- Aromatic foliage with notes of citrus and pine, excellent for cooking
- Attracts bees and pollinators; deer-resistant
- Compact spreading form, about 12–16 in. tall, cascading up to 24 in.
- Drought-tolerant once established; thrives in full sun
- Hardy to approximately Zone 7 (some sources Zone 8)
Plant Blue Cascade Rosemary in full sun in well-drained to dry soil. This trailing variety excels in raised beds, retaining walls, hanging baskets, and large containers where its cascading branches can spill freely. Like all rosemary, it thrives in lean, gritty soils and dislikes wet feet, excellent drainage is essential. Water during establishment, then reduce frequency as it becomes drought-tolerant. In colder climates, treat as an annual or bring containers indoors in winter. Harvest foliage throughout the season for fresh culinary use.
