Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Taking care of a Daisy May® is very easy but there are a few simple rules to follow. They thrive in full sun but do appreciate some light shade in regions with hot summers. Planting in soil that drains well is essential as overwatering can be quite harmful to these Daisies, especially during the winter months. When it comes to watering, less is more. Water weekly when rainfall is less than an inch, but they will not tolerate excessive moisture or soggy soil in the winter.
Provide a good layer of mulch, at least 3-4 inches around the roots, especially in drier climates, and enrich the soil with plenty of humus and compost. Remove faded flower heads to encourage more blooms and prune the clumps back in late fall when the foliage yellows. Daisy clumps can be divided every few years to promote better growth and vigor.
- Radiant in Full Sun, Appreciates Some Afternoon Shade in Hot Zones
- Moderate Regular Moisture & Appreciates Mulched Beds
- Dislikes Soggy Winter Soil
- Any Type of Well-Drained Organic Soil
- Deadhead For Rebloom & Prune Late Autumn
