The ombre effect and the texture and form of the petals add intrigue to gardens, planters, and bouquets!

Backed by strong stems and plenty of buds to keep your garden full of blossoms from midsummer until frost in many areas! These blooms are pollinator and Hummingbird favorites and are perfect for pollinator gardens! The slender stems full of buds are perfect for your floral arrangements.

Almand's Joy Dahlia is a hardy perennial tuber in USDA growing zones 9 through 11 and fantastic annual accent plants in all growing zones. Northern growers can even force these tubers and enjoy lovely houseplants, sunroom, and greenhouse additions!

Planting and Application:

Outdoors year-round, Dahlia tubers are fantastic in-round ornamentals for winding and bunching throughout the garden bed and border! Use in rows to maximize their effect by planting along paths and walkways. Pollinator borders and cutting gardens gain a boost of big, flouncy blooms, while cottage gardens and courtyards enjoy romantic, easy-to-care-for garden additions!

Almand's Joy Dahlia is perfect for adding to planters and containers as focal points, specimen plants and fillers! The mounds of toothy greenery not only highlight the blooms but provides wonderful backdrops to other flowers in mixed planters on porches, patios and sunny balconies! Pot up in urns and entry planters for a grand, space-saving, display!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Dahlia tubers are fast growing and bloom all growing season. Plant in full sun or partial shade, they prefer a wide range of soil types as long as the location is well-drained. Ensure even moisture, by adding 3-4 inches of mulch helps considerably. Soak the tubers for a few hours before planting and plant them with their fingers spread out gently and pointing downwards. Dahlia tubers can be dug after frost, then place in paper bags or boxes of sand in a cool place and sprinkle a little water on the tubers periodically to keep them from drying out.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Organic Soil
  • Moderate Consistent Moisture
  • Dig Tubers in Cold Zones in Fall After Frost
  • Appreciates Monthly Fertilizer
