Description
Rose Sensation False Hydrangea Vine is a spectacular climbing vine from Proven Winners that brings the lush, romantic beauty of hydrangea-style blooms to vertical surfaces with breathtaking results. In June and July, this vigorous self-clinging climber is covered in large clusters of rosy-pink bracts surrounding delicate white flowers, the showiest display of any false hydrangea vine available. Unlike climbing hydrangea, the sterile florets are single sail-like sepals in a deep, marbled rose-pink that is truly stunning against its dark green foliage.
- Large clusters of deep rose-pink sail-like bracts with white flowers in June–July
- Showier and more colorful than standard climbing hydrangea
- Self-clinging via aerial roots, adheres to brick, stone, or wood naturally
- Vigorous climber reaching 40–50 ft. tall on suitable structures
- Dark green foliage provides rich backdrop and attractive coverage
- Thrives in full to part sun with well-drained soil
- Hardy in Zones 5–9
Plant Rose Sensation False Hydrangea Vine at the base of a sturdy structure, brick walls, stone, wooden fences, or large arbors are ideal. This vine clings with aerial roots and does not require ties or supports once established. It prefers well-drained soil and full to part sun, and while it can be slow to establish in the first year or two, it grows vigorously once settled. Avoid planting against painted surfaces as aerial roots can be difficult to remove. A patient gardener will be rewarded with one of the most magnificent flowering vines available.
