Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones 5-9
Floral brilliance from summer until frost, the Pink Delight Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii 'Pink Delight') is a deciduous shrub with superb ornamental features and bright pink blossoms the pollinators go crazy for!
The outstanding feature of your Pink Delight Butterfly Bush is its amazing flowers! Every June, the tiny deep-pink blossoms form big clusters 15 inches long! The fragrant spires of florets create arching and graceful floral brilliance that reblooms until frost. This miracle of nature is repeated all over the grey-hued green aromatic foliage amid the elegantly arching branches.
Pink Delight Butterfly Bush will grow up to six feet in height with an equal spread. It's a hardy bush, with no insect or disease issues to cause you concern. Pink Delight is a vigorous shrub and a magnet to any Hummingbird, bee, and butterfly passing near your yard. These deciduous shrubs are generally hardy and quite easy to grow throughout a wide range spanning USDA hardiness zones 5 to 9!
Planting and Application:
Plant a single mid-sized Pink Delight as a prominent focal point for your front yard. You could also use several in a side yard where its flowers can dress up your summer-to-fall landscape with brilliant blooms at a time when fewer other flowers are in bloom!
As if the beauty of your flowers weren't enough, the fragrance of the blossoms is every bit as enticing as their appearance! A scintillating addition to your yard, and a strong lure to pollinators, your Pink Delight's scent will create a captivating experience indoors and out! You will equally enjoy the brilliant cut flower bouquets indoors while enjoying jeweled visitors outdoors.
The nectar is sweetest in the midday sun, when the honey-scented blossoms are simply irresistible! Pull up a lawn chair or install a garden bench and watch as the pollinators arrive! Plant with other Butterfly Bushes for a mixture of pretty color combinations! Turning any landscape into a butterfly garden with ease!
These shrubs become beautiful hedges, screening, airy property division, and for creating scented outdoor garden rooms with easy, fast-growing, low-maintenance flowering beauties! Equally impressive as solitary specimens and focal points, these bright pink flowering shrubs stand out in the sun beautifully!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Butterfly Bushes need full sun for the most blooms and the best growth. Anything less than 6 hours of sun a day will result in fewer blooms and leggier growth. The variegated leaves are even resistant to scorching. Provide a well-drained, enriched site with moderate moisture throughout the growing season, especially during the hot summers. Heat and drought-tolerant once established, it's recommended you provide 3-4 inches of arborist mulch to hold in moisture and insulate the roots. This layer of bark chips will help keep the leaves clean and prevent mud from splashing onto them.
Deadheading the old blooms keeps the plant fresh-looking and keeps those flowers coming! Each year in early spring, prune down to a foot or less and allow all new growth to produce incredible new growth and flowers. These woody shrubs can act like herbaceous Perennials in cold climates and die to the roots, but will grow quickly back to full size each year!
- Full Sun For The Most Blooms
- Well-Drained Soil
- Fast Growing & Cold Hardy
- Moderate Moisture & Fertility
- Deer Seldom Bother Them
- Prune In Early Spring
