Rosy purple magic wands with balls of sparks at one end, the Magic Allium (Allium 'Magic') will cast a spell on your landscape and hypnotize pollinators near and far! The big rounded clusters of stars are in a divine rosy purple and accented by green centers, becoming the perfect landing pad for bees and butterflies!

The blooms can reach a nearly 4-foot height when in bloom and stand tall and strong on stems and foliage that resemble their Onion family roots. But you'll not have any Onion smell unless you break the stems or leaves. Flowering Onions are not edible and produce a single bloom per bulb, but the showy flower clusters look fantastic in bouquets!

Magic Allium is cold and heat-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 8, growing fast and loving the full sun! The petite blooms make up for their size by their sheer height and dramatic color! Deer and rodents rarely bother these plants and Allium are pest and disease resistant.

Planting and Application:

Beds and borders become the stage for the show in the early summer as these tall rounded blooms add punctuation marks to the landscape! The blooms look best when formally and evenly spaced throughout a garden back border, in strategically placed groupings, or in winding rows to provide height, pollinators, and wondrous cut flowers for bouquets.

Magic Alliums are sized wonderfully for container gardening and in patio pots and planters. They add dramatic pops of color and height to your mixed urns. Try for an amazing display by planting groupings as a specimen display of just Allium and a spiller around their bases for a seasonal show!

  • Bright Reddish-Purple Round Flower Clusters
  • Green Foliage & Strong Stems
  • Nectar-Rich Pollinator-Friendly Blooms
  • Unique Blooms for Floral Arrangements
  • Great in Containers, Back Border, Vertical Interest & Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Loving full sun in cooler climates and appreciating partial shade in hot climates, any rich, well-drained soil is perfect for Allium. Fall-planted bulbs need moderate moisture needs. Any soil type is suitable so long as it is not soggy and add bulb fertilizer to each hole for best results. Despite being a member of the Onion family, there is no Onion smell unless the foliage is broken or crushed. Deadhead to remove spent blooms or try this trick - spray paint the dried seed heads any color you choose for unique garden décor for the rest of the summer and fall!

  • Full Sun For Strongest Growth
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Mounds After Leaves Yellow
  • Squirrels, Rodents & Deer Seldom Bother These Plants

Magic Allium casts its spell on your summer landscape with its whimsical wands of blooms! Order your high-quality bulbs today at Nature Hills and enjoy delivery at the proper fall-planting time for your growing zone!
