Sedum needs to be planted in the full sun in well-drained soil for them to do their best. This perennial will tolerate most soil types, even thriving in poor soils, and is very drought-resistant once established. It actually prefers drier soil! If this sounds like your soil, simply plan to snip back the new growth by a few inches. Do this as soon as your stems reach about a foot tall.
