Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

This compact, ornamental tree is trained into a single-trunk standard, giving you the vivid beauty of the Summer Jazz™ Fire Trumpet Vine in a more controlled, elegant form.

Clusters of fiery red-orange, trumpet-shaped flowers burst forth from the lush, glossy green canopy, creating a jaw-dropping display of color that is absolutely irresistible to hummingbirds and butterflies.

Care & Maintenance

This hardy, low-maintenance ornamental tree thrives with minimal care, making it perfect for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.

  • Sunlight: Prefers full sun for the biggest, brightest blooms, but tolerates light shade.
  • Soil: Adapts to various soil types, but performs best in well-draining, moderately fertile soil.
  • Watering: Water deeply during the first year; once established, it is highly drought-tolerant.
  • Mulching: A 3-4-inch mulch layer helps retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
  • Pruning: Trim in early spring to shape and maintain size while encouraging fresh new growth.
  • Fertilizing: A light application of balanced fertilizer in spring promotes healthy foliage and blooms.
  • Staking: New trees will need a strong stake to support the developing trunk. In just a year or two, you will have a strong stand-alone tree. Windy sites and locations with heavy drifting snow, you may want to keep the stake for a bit longer.
