Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Pecans are great landscape trees! They provide, shade, beauty and shelter for wildlife and best of all - delicious healthy nuts! The Stuart Pecan Tree (Carya illinoensis 'Stuart') is an old-time favorite! This is a stand-out among Pecan varieties is one of the most popular Pecan Trees in the Southeastern US. A variety was started in Mississippi by J.R. Lassabe, but thank Colonel Stuart for making it popular.

The Stuart is a hardy, upright tree, strong and sturdy it doesn't need you to fuss over it. It requires less maintenance compared to its other Pecan family members, which leaves you more time to enjoy sitting under its shade with a good book while you wait for the delicious nuts to ripen. The lush foliage all summer is cooling and fills out the tree's magnificent canopy until fall.

Its nuts are medium-sized but still bigger than you'd buy in the store! Stuart produces roughly 50-55 nuts per pound with a heavy shell. Stuart can take a bit longer to start producing nuts than other Pecans, but the wait is definitely worth it! Surprisingly cold-tolerant, growers in zone 5 and up can enjoy the fruits of their labor for years with a single tree! Stuart is a Type II Pecan and needs a Type I Pecan for maximum pollination.
