Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Spires of white blooms, the Snow Hill Salvia (Salvia x sylvestris 'Schneehugel') has glowing purple stems loaded with masses of clear white flowers that bloom from June to October! Snow Hill is a magnet for butterflies, Hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators!

The hybrid Salvia Snow Hill is a real show stopper with its lovely white flowers that won't brown or fade in the sun. These repeat blooms come in waves until frost, feeding your bees and butterflies, or filling vases in dreamy white slender blooms full of tiny florets. The strong square stems and aromatic green leaves are the perfect backdrop to these spires.

Sometimes known as Schneehugel Salvia, these are easy to grow and love heat, sun, and display wonderful cold tolerance, and on top of that, this plant is also deer-resistant! Thriving throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 8, these perennials grow up to 2 feet in height when in bloom, and spread into tidy mounds 15 inches wide.

Planting and Application:

Plant this easy-to-grow Salvia in your garden or containers where it can show off. The bright flowers will draw everyone in for a closer look! If you want a nice contrast of color and form in your garden, combine Snow Hill in a Moon Garden with other white flowering perennials and shrubs, and white and green variegated foliage plants! They add a lightness to the Cottage garden and are a must-have for the Pollinator Border!

Mix this pure white bloom with other sun garden perennials like Sedum, Veronica, and of course, other Saliva! This mixture will make an attractive accent area in that special place in your yard all summer long. The tidy mounds of greenery look great as the front of the garden border edging, facer plants along the fronts of dark evergreen hedges, or as a ring of white fringe around trees and sculptures.

Snow Hills is hardy for container gardening and provides excellent flower arrangements! That way you can easily keep the lovely white spires close by, both indoors and out! Group these blooming perennials together in large planters or mix them among other plants in your decorative containers or terra cotta pottery.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Give your Perennial Salvia the ability to grow hardy and healthy by planting in full sun in a moist, well-drained area with regular moisture until they are established. After, Salvia are low-water usage plants and just need supplemental moisture during extended heat and drought. A 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the roots keeps soil moisture more consistent and insulates the roots. Salvia are woody herbaceous perennials that look best if cut back in the early spring. Keep those bold blooms popping until fall with regular deadheading.

  • Thrives in Sun, Heat & Humidity
  • Drought-ResistantOnce Established
  • Any Well-Drained Soil Type
  • Prune Back Late Winter or Early Spring
  • Deadhead To Encourage New Blooms Spring til Fall
  • Deer Resistant, Easy To Grow Perennials

Stunning and easy to grow, these white blooming perennials are brown-thumb-proof beauties! Add a piece of elegance to your landscaping and order your very own Snow Hill Salvia today at Nature Hills Nursery!
