Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 2-6
Unique fast-grower with dramatic white bark! There aren't that many trees with white bark and of the few that there are, even less have the graceful beauty of the Weeping Cut Leaf Birch Tree (Betula pendula 'Dalecarlica')!
If you want to add motion and romance to your garden, then this is the perfect tree! As the Weeping Cut Leaf Birch matures, the pendulous branched begins to droop giving it a weeping effect. The delicate, finely cut dark-green foliage adds an extra layer of texture before it turns a brilliant yellow in the fall.
Weeping Cut Leaf is a fast-growing Birch Tree that is attractive year-round, even throughout the winter, where the denuded branches make a lovely silhouette! Growing into an impressive 30 - 40 feet in height, and spreading 20 - 25 feet in width, these are cold-hardy trees that do best throughout USDA planting zones 2 to 6.
Landscape Application:
Then, at the slightest breeze, the branches dance and sway animating the entire landscape. It makes you want to grab a blanket, a good book, and a picnic basket and sit for a while! Champagne and straw boater hats are completely optional.
Plant the Weeping Birch against a darker background or green lawn to highlight the pretty, pale trunks, which will add interest to the yard. They'll especially stand out against a stand of evergreens or a home with dark siding.
This is a hardy Birch variety that is highly recommended for lawn and park plantings because the airy leaves cast cooling shade but won’t fully shade out your lawn! Once established, it tolerates some heat and dry spells.
Even though Birch Trees are native to North America, Weeping Birch are native to Europe and New Zealand. We don't know why this makes them seem even more romantic, but it does. You can almost imagine poets and Hobbits enjoying the dappled shade of a Weeping Birch!
- Fine-Textured, Cut-Leaf Foliage
- Branches Droop With Age - Creates A Weeping Form
- Fast-Growing Graceful, Weeping Habit
- Gorgeous Yellow Fall Color
- Lawn & Specimen Trees, Cooling Shade & Create Romantic Garden Nooks
#ProPlantTips for Care:
This Weeping Cut Leaf Birch is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Provide regular moderate moisture access for your plants and try to not let Birch go through drought dry. Use a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the root zone to help keep soil moisture more consistent while insulating the roots.
Like Maples, Birch trees have sap that runs in the spring, so avoid pruning until after they are in flower to remove crossing branches and winter dieback.
- Full Sun & Part Shade
- Likes Well-Drained Soil
- Consistent Moisture Needs
- Appreciates Mulched Beds
- Prune Late Spring
