How to Use Vivid™ Bright Light Dianthus in the Landscape
Create a memorable landscape feature with these small, mounded plants. They make a brilliant "ribbon" of color along the edge of your foundation plantings, or in your borders.
Space them six inches apart on center. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next. They will grow together and touch.
Fill wide, open areas with a mass planting. Simply add extra rows, and stagger the plants in a zigzagging pattern. Keep new plantings mulched and weeded.
Vivid Pink is beautiful, but it's also tough as nails. it can be used in street plantings to boost the curb appeal of your property. Go ahead and make people look!
Once they are established in your landscape, they are waterwise. Use them in Rock Gardens, or brighten up otherwise bland side yards.
You'll take pride in this special variety of Pinks. They decorate exterior containers as either a single species, or surrounding a taller "Thriller" around the edge.
This dazzling plant makes a perfect gift for a Baby Shower or to celebrate good news. Gift several of them, all potted up in a pretty container, to a friend who needs cheering up.
#ProPlantTips for Care
They need at least 6 hours of sunlight a day to flower their best. Well-drained soil is also a must. Create a raised bed if your soil stays soggy long after a rain event.
Tidy them up with a quick trim using garden snips. It takes hardly any time, and the rewards of saturated pink blooms are certainly worth it.
Plan to give them an organic, slow-release fertilizer formulated for flowering plants twice a year. Apply in early spring, and again in mid-summer.
Please take care when applying nitrogen-rich lawn fertilizer near your flowering plants. They will encourage foliage, not flowers.
In early spring, you'll trim down the past year's foliage to an inch above ground level. If they stayed evergreen in your climate, use a small garden rake to gently clean out fallen leaves and tidy things up.
For a massive display of incredible pink flowers, rely on Vivid™ Bright Light Dianthus. Make your season shine with these lovely plants.
