Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones 4-8
Iris plants command a special season of bloom in late spring! You know the time, right after the Daffodils and Tulips are done, but before most of the flowering perennials do their thing. It's almost like they timed it just right in order to get the maximum amount of attention!
We wouldn't put it past them! These plants are drama queens, and rightfully so!
With regal stems, strappy leaves, and jaw-dropping blooms, Iris are the supermodels of the plant world! And none are more showy than the variegated foliage of the Variegated Sweet Iris (Iris pallida 'Albovariegata')! Combined with the lavender flowers, you will have a standout that stays front and center all season long!
Albovariegata features strongly fragrant lavender blooms, and bicolor green and cream leaves. What a beauty!
A type of Bearded Iris, these spread and form clumps via underground rhizomes that multiply year after year. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 8, Sweet Iris grows about 2 feet in height and width but can be divided every few years to increase their landscape presence! Deer and rabbits seldom bother with these plants but the Butterflies and Bees will flutter from near and far to sip nectar!
Planting and Application:
Because of its smaller, space-saving size, place this Iris in the front garden border in full sun! Groupings maximize the incredible flower and foliage color combination! Plant enough of them to use them as cut flowers, and don't forget to try the leaves in your arrangements. Pure elegance!
Showy in the Cottage Garden, Pollinator Border, and throughout the average soil sun garden, groupings look fantastic in mixed Perennial gardens, winding among flowering shrubs and Roses, or with other upright growing perennials like Ornamental Grasses and sun-garden perennial plants! They look especially lovely among tall Lilies and other Iris!

#ProPlantTips For Care
Iris prefer full sun, but will tolerate a little afternoon shade. These will struggle in wet, soggy, soil so make sure Bearded Iris are planted in a well-drained area. Provide regular moisture during the growing season and supplemental moisture during prolonged drought and heat. Top-dress with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch to regulate soil moisture and enrich the area as it breaks down.
Deadhead the flowers as they fade and trim back the foliage in the autumn. Every 3-5 years, divide the clumps and rearrange the rhizomes to keep them in tight formation and to prevent them from being buried too deeply, preferring to be planted more shallowly in the ground. For the winter, loosely cover your Iris in a layer of clean leaves or evergreen boughs, straw or compost, pulling it back in the spring.
