You'll adore the unique flair of a Sunny Knock Out® Rose Tree (Rosa 'Radsunny') has been crafted from the deciduous Sunny Knock Out® shrub which produces an abundance of fragrant, single-petalled, vivid yellow blossoms that age into a lush, warm vanilla cream. The sunny blooms stand out against the dark, semi-glossy foliage!

Grafted atop a sturdy, straight 2-3 foot tall Rose trunk, Sunny Knock Out® Rose Tree blooms prolifically from spring until the first frost. How nice to see those happy little flowers performing for you all through the entire growing season! This bushy Shrub Rose sits atop a standard trunk allowing you to truly enjoy the fragrance and sight of the blooms, as they are raised up for easy inspection!

Love the smell of citrus? Sunny is one of the most fragrant of the Knock Out® family of Roses! The blooms are infused with a wonderful, fresh scent of lemons and limes worthy of their citrusy color! These plants are butterfly and hummingbird magnets. You'll love watching these flying flowers flutter and flit in your garden!

Faded blooms will self-clean, so there is no deadheading required. Leaving behind only lush, shiny green foliage that makes a wonderful foil for brilliant flowers. You'll love the cheerful blooms and uplifting fragrance indoors too! Fill table bouquets and vases all season and still have plenty left to enjoy on the plant for your butterflies and bees!

We honestly can't think of a better gift to give someone you love than this cheery little Rose Tree. What a fun housewarming present, or a nice way to celebrate a friendship. It's perfect for one of those milestone Birthdays and a wonderful plant for celebrating healing or sharing sympathy after a loss. It's easy enough for anyone to care for.

Knock Out® Roses changed the Rose game when they hit the gardening scene and you'll fall in love with this classically beautiful topiary tree form! Developed to be carefree and extremely hardy, Sunny Knock Out Rose Tree is both disease and pest-resistant. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 - 10, there is little these resistant and resilient plants can't handle in your yard!

Planting and Application:

You'll love this petite accent tree and you can easy tuck one or two in sunny spots all around the yard! They'll make a great focal point wherever you choose to use them. The sweet little Rose tree has such pretty yellow blooms and keeps blooming all through the season! People notice it right away, so use it where you want to draw attention!

Rose trees are high-style garden elements and will love a sunny location in your yard but would be equally at home in a container on your patio! If you have no room in your garden or landscape, use these easy-going Tree Roses on your porch or portico! Place one on either side of your front door in large, exterior pots for a sophisticated, yet cheery greeting. Visitors will appreciate the yummy citrus scent as they approach your home!

Use a single tree in your foundation planting as a small accent near the front walk as a welcoming beacon for your front entrance, the sunny color readily coordinates with the exterior finishes of your home. Underplant the tree with spring bulbs, perennials and groundcover for a textured look that works beautifully throughout the season. Add short, dwarf evergreens to extend the interest over winter.

March a series of them down the length of a garden path to add structure and charm. Or, try this same look as a lovely backdrop for perennial gardens. For a marvelous look, try using groupings of 3, 5 or 7 of these trees as regular punctuation through a long hedge of Sunny Knock Out® Rose bushes.

Increase the formality with a disciplined planting plan. Adding the trees brings vertical height to your hedge to easily increase the dramatic impact. Your garden will look like a million bucks, but the level of care stays the same!

  • Bright Yellow Flowers Age to Mellow Cream Color

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Knock Out® Rose bushes must have full sun (at least 6 hours or more) each day. The more sun, the more flowers! Choose a well-drained site for planting in your garden. Rose root systems won't tolerate wet soil. If you see puddles that last a long time where you hope to plant, you can mound up - add additional soil to a height of 18 and plant directly in the mound.

Elevate containers up off the ground and ensure they have good drainage and are planted in a protected location. New installations and container plants will require a moderate amount of regular water to get their roots established in your native soil. Test before you water by using the Finger Test method. Established plants are easier going, but do use a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the roots of both potted and in-ground plants.

Knock Out® Rose shrubs display drought tolerance once their roots are well established. However, we recommend you baby your Tree Form plant a bit. Set up a drip irrigation system on a schedule to keep things really easy for yourself. While not required, you can apply a balanced Rose fertilizer twice a year, following the directions on the label. Usually, it's recommended to wait for the first application until after the first flush of blooms has passed. Give the second application no later than mid-summer. Each formula will have different application rates, so be sure to check the instructions.

Rose Tree Pruning

Traditional Roses often require a lot of attention to look their best, but not so with Knock Out® Roses' non-stop blooms that self-clean. Deadheading is a thing of the past! So all you do is sit back and enjoy the show!

Early each spring, after the last frost has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the top of your Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. You'll want to study your tree in early spring once the new growth is leafing out. Remove any crossing, damaged, or wild canes that have a mind of their own all the way back just above a new bud.

Make selective pruning cuts to open up the interior of the canopy for more sunlight and air circulation. You can also hard prune the entire canopy back with tip pruning to control its size if desired. Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Read all you need about Rose pruning Here, and about winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses inspiring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!

You can plant Roses any time if you are able to provide enough consistent moisture and attention. While there is not a specific month that is best, generally because it changes with temperatures, climate and growing zone. However, the easiest times of the year to get Rose bushes established in your landscape are in spring after the last frost date, and in fall about 4-6 weeks before the first frost.

I have purchased plants online

I have purchased plants online other places with terrible experiences. Swore I would never again. I was unsuccessful finding a double sunny knockout tree, and with great fear, thought to try again. I had a question prior to receiving and received a response within min.s. When the tree arrived, it was packaged extremely well and in full bloom. It’s been only one week, and still thriving. I will definitely purchase from Nature Hills again only!

Totally Pleased

Received my Sunny Knock Out rose tree today, perfectly packaged by Naturehills (as usual). Hardly a leaf was damaged. I was surprised that there were two blooms already on the tree, a third burst open this afternoon, and I counted at least 20 buds for the future. Most of the buds were drooping from the shipping experience, but after 6 hours in the Florida sunshine and an abundance of water, all of them are perking up. The tree looks very healthy (lots of leaves, and buds, as I already mentioned). The shipping medium was moist, so the tree didn't suffer much ship-shock. It's home will be next to a red rose tree I purchased last fall from Naturehills and is full of buds, but not as far along as this tree. Quality, care in shipment and uniqueness in variety are hallmarks of Naturehills. I don't buy on-line anywhere else. I would give six stars if I could!

Dear John,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that your Sunny Knock Out® Rose Tree arrived in such great condition and that the blooms and countless buds are already brightening your garden. Florida sunshine certainly works wonders, and it's fantastic to know your rosetree bounced back so well after shipping. Your thoughtful parallels between your new rose and the previously purchased red rose tree really show your genuine passion for gardening – it’s customers like you who make our work so rewarding.

As you continue nurturing these beauties side-by-side, we recommend keeping an eye on soil moisture and sun exposure; Rose Trees thrive best with consistent watering and 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Also, a monthly feeding with a rose-specific fertilizer can encourage stronger blooming through the season. If you ever have questions about pruning, pest management, or caring through Florida’s lovely Texas climate nuances, don’t hesitate to reach out or check our online plant care resources.

We’re grateful to be your go-to online plant nursery and look forward to helping you cultivate many more lush and thriving gardens!

Wishing you happy planting,
