Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Love the formal look of Lindens, but want a pest-resistant variety? Choose Sterling Silver Linden Tree (Tilia tomentosa 'Sterling') and you'll get the sophistication you crave.
One of the best Silver Linden cultivars, these tasteful trees feature leaves with "fuzzy" undersides which help resist pests. Tomentosa, from their botanical name, refers to their downy texture.
Dark green on top and silvery underneath, Sterling Silver Linden's foliage delivers a fine display.
You'll delight in how the leaves turn and "flash" in the breeze...like natural sequins that catch sunlight.
They are held densely on the well-structured branches. Enjoy their crisp, refreshing shade all season long.
When nights start getting cooler, the leaves turn a clear yellow to help you decorate for fall. Place your pumpkins and shocks of corn, and arrange your annual family photo.
Even the bark is attractive. Smooth while young, over time it develops an exquisite texture that brings winter interest, especially when paired with its trim and tidy branch structure.
In summer, the trees treat your neighborhood to a marvelous, scented floral display. The pendulous, creamy-yellow blooms smell bright and sweet.
The spicy flowers also attract and support helpful honey bees and other beneficial pollinators, who use them to create "Basswood" honey for sure. But Japanese Beetles don't seem to bother with this variety.
Compact, with a uniform, pyramidal shape, Sterling Silver Linden is a wonderful smaller tree for shade and street plantings. Place your order today, you'll never regret this elegant choice.
How to Use Sterling Silver Linden in the Landscape
These popular trees are used by professional landscape designers, who appreciate their clean outline and pest-resistant, easy-care nature. Use several of them on commercial lots, and you'll easily elevate the visual tone of your property.
Formal applications are a natural fit for Sterling Silver Lindens. Space them 35 to 45 feet apart on center, measuring from the center of one to the center of the next.
Diversify your plantings, without losing formality, by alternating them with other Linden varieties. Use at least three trees in a row, then switch to other species, such as Turkish Hazel or Musashino Zelkova.
Even on small lots, a single Sterling Silver Linden tree brings welcome shade, fragrance, fall color, and style. Plant on the south or southwest of the lot for the biggest shade benefits.
Save time and effort with these low-maintenance landscape tips. Create mulched garden beds and underplant with easy-care groundcover. Add chic outdoor containers to bring color that can be changed out for each season.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Site your new Sterling Silver Linden trees in full sun. They'll do best with at least six hours of direct sunlight a day.
Good air circulation helps keep plants healthy, as does well-drained soil. If your soil retains water after rainfall, bring in additional soil to elevate the planting in a raised planting bed or planting mound.
Young trees need careful watering, as their roots get established in your landscape. We recommend a medium amount of supplemental water thereafter, especially in dry weather.
Mulch helps cut down on surface evaporation. Apply a three-inch layer over the root system, then pull it back from touching the trunk.
Lindens boast a uniform branch structure. Minor pruning is usually all that is required and should be done in late winter as needed.
Add the pretty charm and amazing fragrance of Sterling Silver Linden Tree to your property this season. Order yours today!
