Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

You'll be star-struck with the Proven Winners® Beth's Blue® Star Flower (Isotoma axillaris 'Beth's Blue' (formerly known as Laurentia) and its star-shaped violet-blue flowers floating over a cushion of medium-green foliage! This plant creates vigorous mats of soft-green foliage strewn with star-shaped, blue flowers all summer!

The mounded low-growing clumps are fully packed with small, lance-shaped leaves in a bright green, and look great before and after the plant is in flower! Pollinators will love Beth's Blues® pretty blooms, and you will love its space-saving showy display and its tolerance of hot, dry garden locations!

With a tidy-mounded and slightly trailing habit, these fast-growing plants are typically used as seasonal fillers and spillers! This plant can be a perennial in frost-free growing zones 9-11, but in USDA planting zones 3-8 it is an annual or seasonal accent.

Landscape Application:

Beth's Blue® intermingles well with other plants to fill in the middle ground of your landscaping beds and borders! Loving hot sunny locations, these plants can be quite xeric once established. Try planting the fine textured blue blooms along pathway edges, around pools, and porches, and filling in those bare spots in the front of the garden bed.

Use Beth's Blue® in pots, window boxes, landscaping, and mixed planters! The blue flowers don't show up well from a distance but add a fine, lacy texture. Up close, they are incredible when mixed with pastel colors or in more striking combinations and large foliage plants.

  • Violet-Blue Star-Shaped Blooms
  • Fine-Textured Bright Green Airy Foliage
  • Tidy Mounds Grow Low
  • Annual Accent & Hot Climate Perennial

Deadheading is not necessary for these plants, but once the foliage yellows in the fall in warm climates, you can trim back the foliage.
